Abstract

297,672. Bienner, E. Sept. 24, 1927, [Convention date]. Vehicle and like lamps; lantern shutters. - A vehicle or like lamp adapted to produce a convergent beam of light is provided with an opaque non-reflecting screen c, Fig. 1, at the opening of the reflector for completely obscuring the light projected from the lower portion of the lamp. An electric bulb b is arranged just in front of the focus a<1> of a parabolic reflector a. The screen may be in the form of a louvre shutter operable from the driver's seat. Direct rays may be obscured by a screen g which may be an upper extension of the screen c. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also modifications in which the lower part f of the reflector, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), may be dulled or otherwise made non-reflecting, or the reflector may comprise a half-paraboloid as shown in Fig. 5 (Cancelled), and the screen g may be on the bulb b. It is also stated that the screen c may be partially obscuring and removable. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
