Abstract
295,844. Healey, W. M. Sept. 12, 1927. Ornamenting. - In order to produce monograms, crests, or other devices on signet rings, sleeve links, bracelets, watch charms, medals, &c., the device, of platinum or other metal and preferab1y in its finished form, is placed in a mould shaped to produce the required article, and molten gold or other metal of a contrasting colour is poured in. In the case of rings, bracelets, or other articles which are not flat, only that part of the article which includes the device is thus cast, the remainder being built or joined in any known manner. The mould shown in Fig. 1 comprises two rings A, A' fi11ed with sand &c. a, a<1>, Fig. 5, shaped to produce part of a signet ring. The rings A, A<1> are aligned by pins A<4>, A<5> and clamped by screws A<8>. The insert B rests on a flat part. of the mould cavity and the runner a<5> is widened towards one side a<6>.
