Bed-rests; adjustments.-In a bedstead having an adjustable foot-rest 3 provided with pivoted members 5, slotted at 6 and toothed at 7 to engage pins 9 on the frame 1, the members 5 can be disengaged from the pins 9, against the action of a spring 26, by means of a press rod 23, arranged near the lifting handle 11, a bell-crank lever 24 and a rod 25. In the modification shown in Fig. 7, the rod 23 carries a gripping piece 27 within the handle 11.
