Ticket punches. - A ticket punch is adapted to issue a ticket from a supply roll punched according to the fare, the stage and the class of ticket, and counters add the number of tickets at each fare, class or stage. A spring-returned pivoted lever 84, Fig. 1, when forced towards a fixed hand grip 86 on the frame lowers a plate 74 controlled by a full stroke pawl 89 and carries a pawl 70 pivoted at 700 into engagement with one of four pins on a pinion 66, Fig. 1, so as to rotate a shaft 63 and cams 64 so as to depress and raise a frame consisting of two side plates 33 with L-shaped cross-bars 35, 36 which actuate the puncher. Thereafter a pawl 79 on the plate 74 engaging one of three pins 81 on a disc fast to a three-toothed disc 21 turns the latter to feed another length of strip into position for a fresh ticket. Long overhangs on the pawls 70, 79 lock against the corresponding pins and prevent undesired movement of the parts. The supply of strip on a spool 18 fits on a hub 17 with two internal diameters which afford a shoulder to lock a headed split pin 96 on the cover 93 of the supply roll casing 91, which latter has a flared side 92 dovetailing in a fixed guide 90 on the frame plate 16. The ticket has three fields 115, Fig. 6, for fare values, 116 for stages, and 117 for class of ticket. Twelve fare value punches 30 work in a guide plate 113 and the base plate 13 and have heads formed to engage positively each in a rocker 46 pivoted on a crossbar 45 and having pivoted to it a tumbler 47, thrown, each by its spring 49, outwardly to thrust the manual end 26 of its key lever through an aperture in the casing. The key levers are pivoted on a pair of parallel bars 24, 25 and alternate above and below, and are adapted, when depressed, to throw their tumblers 47 into engagement with the cross-bar 35, in which position they are held for actuations by a spring-controlled yoke 39, 40 pivoted on studs in the casing, one of the arms having an extension to wipe against a fixed stop to prevent disengagement of tumbler and cross-bar during operation. The tail of the tumblers engage extension fingers on slides 112, the upper ends of which are prolonged to coact with one-way actuators 111 for appropriate counters 110. The second cross-bar 36 on the reciprocating frame engages the grooved head of a punch 50 for the " stage " which works in a carriage 51 which can be positioned by means of a screwed spindle 52 and an external crank 53. A set of five classification punches 60 are connected one at a time by a coupling piece 61 to a grooved cross-bar 59 on the reciprocating frame; selection being made by a hand lever 612, the inner forked end of which engages a stud 610 on the coupler 61. A tray 105 has receptacles 106 for the currency punchings and 107 for the classification group, and the " stop " punchings are collected in a receptacle 107 attached to the carriage 51. Instead of punches, impression type heads may be fitted to the various plungers.
