Abstract

293,015. Deutsche Hydrier Werke Akt.-Ges., (Assignees of Bakonyi, S.). June 30, 1927, [Convention date]. Bacteria. cultivating. - In biochemical processes, particularly fermentation, natural mixed cultures of bacteria, which have been submitted to one or more selection processes bv being allowed to grow in contact with a small quantity of the desired product to select such organisms found to be most resistant to said product, are used. This selection mav be followed bv a microscopic investigation and selection. the organisms are fixed on suitable solid nutrient substrata or carriers. No heating should be used, which would kill the non-sporiferous forms. Filter bodies of slag or broken bones are enriched with the cultures and the materials to be treated arepoured upon the said filter bodies.
