Road-traffic signals on vehicles. - A directionsignalling device for vehicles comprises a pair of semaphore arms s adapted to be selectively set to a plurality of display positions by means under the control of the driver. In the form shown the signalling device comprises a semaphore arm a Figs. 2 and 3, one at each side of the vehicle normally hanging within a casing b and supported on a spindle e by a drum d to which is secured one end of a corresponding Bowden wire i the other end of each of which is attached to the drum of a controlling lever c, Figs. 4 and 5. The lever forms an extension of the cover p of a casing l, Fig. 5, containing drums m, n one for each semaphore arm. The drums are provided with slots s, t extending in opposite directions and engaged by a pin r projecting from the cover p. Movement of the lever c in one direction or the other causes the appropriate arm to be moved to signalling position. A spring controlled detent w in the cover p is adapted to engage depressions v in the rim of the casing ! l to hold the arm in any of its signalling positions. A lamp chamber k may be provided at the end of the semaphore arms, the lamp being illuminated by means of a switch operating automatically.
