Abstract

289,660. Whitehouse, A. June 7, 1927. Ornamental metalwork.-Ornamental gold sheet or strip consisting of alternating bands of gold of different colours, e.g. red, white or green gold, is made by soldering adjacent bars a together along their longitudinal edges, the joint being of such a form that a substantial overlapping of the metal of adjacent bars takes place. The soldered bars are then rolled in their longitudinal direction to the required thickness. Various joint sections are shown and described. The finished sheet or strip may be used for the manufacture of cigarette, cigar, card and watch cases, cuff links, and brush and similar mounts.
