Abstract

289,387. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. April 25, 1927, [Convention date]. Cellulose nitrates. - Unstable nitrocelluloses which yield highly viscous solutions are converted into nitrocelluloses which yield solutions of low viscosity, by heating the unstable nitrocellulose with water at a temperature above 100‹ C. in presence' of a basic compound insoluble in water, such as magnesia.
