Chambers.-Clay goods, such as sanitary pipes, after removal from the moulding machine are heated in front of a fire for a few minutes prior to the usual drying on a drying-floor. In the case of sanitary pipes, the spigoted ends are placed at from 6 to 12 inches from the fire for from 3 to 10 minutes.
