Refrigerators. domestic, shop, and like.-A closed storage chamber or cooling case for fish or other goods is provided with one or more open water tanks 5 extending over the greater part of the floor and cooled by a refrigerating plant 7 which may be arranged in a space 6 between the tanks or outside the chamber, a part only of the water being frozen so that the remainder preserves a moist atmosphere at about freezing temperature. The fish &c. is supported on perforated shelves 9, 12 accessible through a hinged lid 2, and icemoulds 10 may be arranged in the space 6. Some ice may be packed between layers of the fish &c. The walls of the chamber are insulated by cork or other material.
