Abstract

Carding - engines. - Fancies and like rollers are covered with teeth arranged in rows of bundles i, Fig. 4, separated by free spaces, the breadth of which is sufficient to enable the various bundles to swing independently of one another. The sheets of clothing b, Fig. 3, have free spaces f at the edges to enable them to be secured to the cylinder. Groups of two or more rows g of teeth are provided separated by spaces h. The teeth in the rows are staggered, the spaces k between two cross-pieces l being less than the length of the cross-piece.
