Partitioned and cellular boxes.-Flats for cellular egg boxes are formed of corrugated, cardboard with transverse grooves 8 for accommodating the edges of transverse strips of the filler while the edges of the longitudinal strips are accommodated by the corrugations. By this means the strips of the filler are, supported and prevented from moving and rigidity is given to the whole structure. The grooves 8 may be made by cutting parallel slits across the corrugations 4 and flattening the intermediate portions 5, by pressing down the corrugations along transverse lines by means of rollers, or by building up the corrugated sheet from a number of separate corrugated strips 6 applied to a flat cardboard base so as to leave the transverse spaces 8 between them.
