Abstract

281,359. Ashton, F. Aug. 6, 1926. Rollers and roller heads. - A roller head for fibrous materials comprises a large front bottom roller A, an adjustable slide E carrying one or two smaller rollers B, C, and a cap bar G and extension H carrying the top rollers, the roller A being engaged by three or more rollers f, g, h, and a weighted delivery roller i. The roller f is supported so that it is allowed free upward movement. The lower rollers are case harded and fluted, and the top rollers are covered or uncovered. The back lower roller C may be dispensed with, the top back roller d then replacing the roller e and the break draft, normally effected by the rollers B, e, being effected by the roller f.
