Abstract
281,038. James, H. V. Sept. 15, 1926. Switchboards.-Relates to change-over selector type switches wherein a set of knife-blade or like contacts is adapted selectively to engage a corresponding set of fixed contacts in multiple groups, the switch comprising a frame carrying the contact members mounted on a rod about which it can turn and on which it can slide longitudinally. Four sets 1 - - 4 of fixed contacts are mounted on a panel 10 for selective engagement by contact members 15 on a frame 13 which, bv means of members 14, can turn about, or slide on, the rod 12, exact register being ensured by means of fixed collars 16. The " off " position may be effected by means of a plug, as 17, inserted in a socket in the panel, the frame resting against the plug. The Provisional Specification also states that where more than four sets of fixed contacts are used, movable collars may be fixed along the rod for predetermining the position of the frame, or the number of frames may be increased.
