Rolling.-Apparatus for forming plate or sheet glass comprises a receiving roll 2 and a sizing roll 1 which together form the sheet, a wall 3 located above the receiving roll 2, and a pot 4 which is movable about an axis 4a situated close to the upper edge of the wall and to the forward edge of the pot. In operation the pot 4, mounted as described in Specification 212,250, is brought up to the wall 3 and is tilted slowly about the axis 4a so that the contained glass slides on to the receiving-roll without excessive lapping and folding.
