Abstract

277,967. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges.). Sept. 22, 1926, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Cut-out arrangements; induction relays. - In order to obtain selective action of time-lag relays in the event of a short-circuit on a line two induction-type impedance relay systems 13, 14 are employed each consisting of two-induction discs 15, 16 and two magnet systems of which 18 is energized by the current in the line and by the inductive voltage drop and the other 19 by the current on the line. The relav system 13 is adjusted so that it will operate and close its contacts 20 at a value somewhat smaller than the inductive resistance of the line and the system 14 is adjusted to operate on a somewhat greater resistance and close its contacts 21. These contacts are in a local tripping circuit for the circuitbreaker trip coil 27. Contacts 22, 23 are also located in the tripping circuit and these are closed after predetermined time-intervals by an overload relay 24 provided with a damping device. A reverse-current relay 28 may control additional contacts in the tripping circuit.
