R÷ntgen-ray tubes.- The tube and its holder are so shaped or marked that they fit together, or may be fitted together, in a definite relation to each other. In the form shown, each or either end cap b of the tube h carries adetachable band c having a projection e adapted to enter a recess g in the holder a. The projection may be formed on or permanently secured to the tube. The recess g may be carried through the holder a, and the projection e may be made long enough to extend therethrough, so that it may be secured externally, as by a nut, to the holder. By mounting the projection e on an extension member, a R÷ntgen tube of length differing from that for which the holder is designed may be adapted thereto.
