276,271. Lassen, H. R. April 14, 1927. Diamond and like tools.- In a method of and apparatus for making grinding elements of hard material such as carborundum, emery, or other powdered or granular material, a piece of material such as a broken emery wheel or a worn-out, wheel is operated upon by two or more concentric annular drills having diamond edges. The drill comprises a shank a to which are secured two cylinders b, d, which are provided with diamonds or other hard abrasives at the cutting edges. The tool may consist of more than two cylinders, the latter in each case being interchangeably secured to the shank. A cooling agent such as water is supplied through a non-rotating sleeve e having an annular passage g leading through a radial or dametrical passage h and axial channel j to orifices k in the cylinder b.
