Vacuum tubes. - To enable the anti-microphonic shield described in the parent Specification to be made of heavier material and vet to be easily fitted on tubes that are contracted towards the base, it is provided with a slit that enables it to be opened and with means for closing the slit when the shield is in position. The slit 2 may extend partly up one side, as shown in Fig. 1, or completely over the shield so as to divide it into separate parts 6, Fig. 6. One or more spring rings 4, 11 retain the parts in place.
