Abstract

271,364. Carter, E. S. Jan. 21, 1927. Toothed gearing. - Diametrically opposed pins 3, 4 on a disc 1 on a driving-shaft 5 engage grooves of the form shown in a disc 2, Fig. 7, or 16, Fig. 5. The edges x, y of alternate grooves and one face of the periphery of a central boss 14 are struck with a centre 10 which may be adjacent to the periphery of the disc 2 or 16, the continuations of such edges near the disc periphery being also circular but of smaller radius. The opposing edges of the grooves are formed parallel to those described. For greater speed reduction several such devices, of which Fig. 5 shows two, may be used in series.
