Dumping-carts; vehicles with removable bodies. -In interchangeable containers for road vehicles of the kind in which the container is capable of being readily lifted from the vehicle and of discharging its contents through a door or doors constituting, the bottom, the container being provided with winding mechanism for closing the bottom, means are provided for locking the bottom which means so coact with the winding mechanism that the release of such locking means automatically pre-releases the winding mechanism. The container adapted to be lifted by chains c is provided with bottom doors d<1>, d<2> adapted to be closed by chains f<1>, f<2> and a handoperated shaft g and also with hook-shaped lugs l operated by a handle n for engaging studs m for looking the bottom in the closed position. The lugs l have cam surfaces so that during unlocking the locking pawl on the shaft g is disengaged by raising the roller g<2> of a vertical rod g, lever p and link o. The pawl is re-engaged by the same lever and link by means of a link t and pin r when the doors reach their fully-opened position. To prevent vertical movement of the rod q and consequent releasing of the pawl j during locking of the doors by the lugs l and studs m, the rod q is rule-jointed as shown to permit its lower extremity to have angular displacement.
