Abstract

271,251. Birmingham Small Arms Co., Ltd., and Norman, G. June 7, 1926, Aiming rests.-A one-legged gun support is formed of a strut 9 having at its upper end a loop or shoulder-piece 1 for the shooter's arm, the loop being attached to the butt end 2 of the gun as for example by a removable hinge-pin which allows the strut to be folded against the gun or removed if desired. The upper part of the strut which is telescopic is fixed at suitable lengths by a pin 12 and the lower end pivots on a peg 13 which may be spring mounted on the strut. The strut may be rule-jointed to permit of firing over a parapet. Fig. 6 shows a coil-spring swivel support for the lower end of the strut suitable for attachment to a carriage or other structure.
