Abstract

270,417. O'Brien, D. W. Feb. 9, 1926. Overflow fittings; drip trays.-Relates to oil drums of the type having a dished head with two bung holes therein which can be closed for transportation, while one serves for a pump hole and the other for a drain hole when the drum is stood on end for withdrawing the contents. According to the invention the drain hole 3 has a fixed or removable filter fitted thereto. A detachable grid 8 is provided on which measures &c. 9 may be stood, and in which clearance is allowed in the vicinity of the bung holes. A cavity 15 is also provided in the base of the drum to ensure complete emptying by the pump. A dipping stick 6 may be attached to the filter.
