Tools, mounting yieldingly.-In a tine mounting or box comprising side plates or cheeks adapted to be clamped to a transverse member or members, the forward parts of the side plates hook or fit over a transverse member and the rear parts are secured in position by means of a single vertical bolt engaging with a clamping- plate bearing on the top of the transverse member or members, so that the forces acting on the tine during working are transmitted to the transverse member or members and not to the bolt. The invention is shown applied to a resilient tine mounting of the kind described in Specification 253,298. The side plates A are applied to two transverse members D, D<1> the forward one of which may be round or rectangular and may constitute the axle of the implement. The tine E works between the plates A under the control of a spring F. The plates A are clamped in position by a clamping-plate B and an eyebolt C surrounding one of the pins A<1> that connect the plates A together. Hook-shaped parts A<2> of the plates A fit around the member D<1>, and a depending lug B<2> on the clamping-plate B has inclined surfaces B<3> engaging with inclined faces A<3> on the plates A so as to have a wedging action. Pro.- jections B', B<5> on the plate B may fit between the plates A. There may be a slight clearance around the axle D<1> when the tine is not working, to permit the tine box moving angularly for raising or lowering the tine. In a modification the two transverse members D, D' are replaced by a single square member. In another the wedging action is dispensed with, the surfaces corresponding to the inclines A<3>, B<4> being vertical.
