Tivoli billiards and the like. - The game apparatus is intended for use in stores, the coins tendered in payment for an article, such as a packet of chewing gum, being inserted in the apparatus and projected towards a target. Should the operator be successful, he is entitled to a prize in addition to the article purchased bv the coin. The apparatus comprises a casing, Figs. 1 and 6, the lower part B nf which contains a money-box D and the upper part a partition e with a glass front f. The coin 18 placed in a seating 16 is projected between the front and the partition by a pivoted driver 19, working between stops 20, 21, towards a target, which consists of rubber studs 41 guarding the entrance to three pockets. The pockets 32, 32<a>, 32<b> are formed by a plate 22 and three S-shaped plates 28, 28<a>, 28<c>, Fig. 11, a coin entering the pockets being retained in front of windows 26 in the plate 22 by prongs 35<a>, Fig. 9, on a vertical rotatable rod 35 which is held in retaining position by a blade spring 36. The value of the prize depends on the pocket entered and the windows 26 allow the detection of spurious coins. A coin which misses the target passes down a runway 34 to the box D but is retained for inspection bv an horizontal pivoted plate 40, Fig. 14, held in position by a spring 40<a>. The rod 35 and the plate 40 are rotated to release the coins by turning a knob 39<a> carried by a vertical rod 39 which is connected by links 38, 40b to the rods 35 and plate 40 respectively. The coins released from the pockets pass by way of shoots 33 to small compartments of the money-box D.
