Abstract

268,104. Bentley, W. H., Catlow, B., and Blythe & Co., Ltd., W. Feb. 24, 1926. Lead nitrate is produced by a continuous process in which the film of oxide produced by exposing metallic lead to air is dissolved off by immersing the lead in a solution of lead nitrate, the process being repeated again and again, nitric acid being added to the solution to reconvert the basic lead nitrate formed into lead nitrate. The lead is preferably in granular form and is placed in a bucket which is alternately raised from and lowered into a tank containing lead nitrate. Specification 6464/84 is referred to.
