Abstract

267,405. Oliver, C., and Nightingale, W. Sept. 9, 1026. Blades. - Turbine blades are attached to their shrouding by inserting their ends through apertures in a through-like part of the shrouding and running in molten metal. The Made-ends b are shouldered and the shrouding a is stamped, rolled, pressed or extruded to have a trough-like part into which these ends protrude. The bladeends mav be slotted so that a wire c can be placed along the shrouding in the slots, Fig. 3, and the sides of the slots hammered over, Fig. 4, to retain the wine. Molten metal d is then poured into the trough.
