Incrustation, preventing. - Incrustation in steam boilers and the like is prevented by applying to the walls a unidirectional pulsating potential by means of one or more conductors receiving a charge of one polarity from an alternating current through the intermediary of a valve or like rectifier. The valve and shape of the pulsating potential curve are regulated by a variable condenser interposed in the leads.
