262,942. Mavitta, W. Dec. 17, 1925. Scales.-A scale or like instrument is made of a core a of wood &c. surrounded bv a laver b of celluloid &c. The core is preferably of doubleconvex form as shown and the surrounding celluloid consists of two strips of a width exceeding that of the core, these strips being applied to the two faces of the core so as to adhere thereto. The overlapping edges c of the strips are treated with solvent &c. and pressed together, and after adhesion they are bevelled and trued.
