Diapkragms. - Chemically pure aluminium preferably containing not more than 0-2 per cent of impurities is used for the diaphragms of acoustic instruments. The diaphragm is preferably formed by rolling to .002 inches thick, but the thickness may be varied in accordance with the size of the diaphragm and fins may be formed by pressing.
