Abstract
Systems and methods for certificate of ownership registration and management are disclosed. A document representing an intellectual property asset may be requested to be registered with an asset registry. A certificate of ownership corresponding to the document may be generated and may be registered with a blockchain. A record of the registration may be generated for the asset registry. The registry may be searchable and/or offer functionality such as valuation, insurance provision, and/or verification, among other benefits and functionalities.
Claims (15)
1. A system comprising: one or more processors; and non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: receiving, from an electronic device, input data requesting to register an artifact; determining an entity associated with the artifact; determining a verification of an identity of the entity; receiving first data that includes: metadata associated with at least one of a copyright or the artifact; the artifact; a valuation of at least one of the copyright or the artifact; and a copyright registration number; receiving a block value generated by a distributed-ledger system that is associated with the artifact, the block value representing a block in a blockchain of the distributed-ledger system; generating a first certificate of ownership associated with the artifact based at least in part on the verification of the identity of the entity and the first data; generating second data representing an association between the first certificate of ownership and the block value; storing the second data in a repository; and generating an insurance policy associated with a second certificate of ownership associated with the artifact, the insurance policy being associated with transfer of a non-fungible token (NFT) associated with the artifact.
2. The system of claim 1, wherein the block value comprises a first block value, the operations further comprising: receiving a request to register a second block value associated with the NFT associated with the artifact; generating the second certificate of ownership associated with the artifact in response to receiving the request to register the second block value associated with the NFT associated with the artifact; and generating third data representing an association between the second certificate of ownership associated with the artifact and the first certificate of ownership associated with the artifact. 47
3. The system of claim 1, further comprising: receiving a request to verify the NFT associated with the artifact from a third-party; determining first identifying data associated with the NFT; determining second identifying data stored in the repository; determining that the first identifying data matches the second identifying data; and sending an indication to the third-party that the NFT associated with the artifact is authentic based at least in part on determining that the first identifying data matches the second identifying data.
4. The system of claim 1, further comprising: receiving a request to generate an insurance claim associated with the insurance policy associated with the second certificate of ownership associated with the artifact; authenticating a purchasing entity associated with the second certificate of ownership associated with the artifact; authenticating the insurance policy associated with the second certificate of ownership associated with the artifact; and issuing the insurance claim based at least in part on the purchasing entity and the insurance policy passing authentication.
5. A method, comprising: receiving, from an electronic device, input data requesting to register an artifact; determining an entity associated with the artifact; determining a verification of an identity of the entity; receiving a first block value generated by a first distributed-ledger system that is associated with the artifact, the first block value representing a first block in a first blockchain of the first distributed-ledger system; generating a first certificate of ownership associated with the artifact based at least in part on the verification of the identity of the entity; generating first data representing an association between the first certificate of ownership and the first block value; storing the first data in a repository; receiving a request to register a second block value generated by a second distributed-ledger system that is associated with a non-fungible token (NFT) associated with the artifact, the second block value representing a second block in a second blockchain of the second distributed-ledger system; 48 determining a verification that the first block value corresponds to the second block value to authenticate the NFT associated with the artifact; generating a second certificate of ownership associated with NFT associated with the artifact based at least in part on the verification that the first block value corresponds to the second block value; and generating an insurance policy associated with the second certificate of ownership.
6. The method of claim 5, further comprising providing an application programming interface (API) to a third-party, wherein the request to register the second block value is received via the API and the third-party comprises an NFT marketplace.
7. The method of claim 5, further comprising: receiving a request to generate an insurance claim associated with the insurance policy; authenticating a purchasing entity associated with the insurance policy associated with the artifact; authenticating the insurance policy associated with the artifact; and issuing the insurance claim based at least in part on the purchasing entity and the insurance policy passing authentication.
8. The method of claim 5, further comprising: receiving a request to generate an insurance claim associated with the insurance policy; authenticating a purchasing entity associated with the second certificate of ownership associated with the artifact; authenticating the insurance policy associated with the second certificate of ownership associated with the artifact; and issuing the insurance claim based at least in part on the purchasing entity and the insurance policy passing authentication.
9. The method of claim 5, wherein the request to register the second block value is received from the electronic device. 49
10. The method of claim 5, further comprising: generating a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with at least one of the artifact or the first certificate of ownership; storing the URL in the repository; and providing the URL to the electronic device, wherein selecting the URL causes the electronic device to display an indication of registration associated with at least one of the copyright and/or the artifact.
11. The method of claim 5, wherein at least one of the first certificate of ownership or the second certificate of ownership comprises a certificate of ownership and at least one of the first block value or the second block value comprises a hash value.
12. A system comprising: one or more processors; and non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: receiving, from an electronic device, input data requesting to register an artifact; determining an entity associated with at least one of the artifact; determining a verification of an identity of the entity; receiving a first block value generated by a first distributed-ledger system that is associated with the artifact, the first block value representing a first block in a first blockchain of the first distributed-ledger system; generating a first certificate of ownership associated with the artifact based at least in part on the verification of the identity of the entity and the first data; generating first data representing an association between the first certificate of ownership and the first block value; storing the first data in a repository; receiving a request to register a second block value generated by a second distributed-ledger system that is associated with a non-fungible token (NFT) associated with the artifact, the second block value representing a second block in a second blockchain of the second distributed-ledger system; determining a verification that the first block value corresponds to the second block value to authenticate the NFT associated with the artifact; 50 generating a second certificate of ownership associated withNFT associated with the artifact based at least in part on the verification that the first block value corresponds to the second block value; generating an insurance policy associated with the second certificate of ownership.
13. The system of claim 12, further comprising: determining an entity associated with at least one of a copyright or the artifact; determining an authentication of the entity; and generating the first certificate of ownership based at least in part on authentication of the entity.
14. The system of claim 12, further comprise generating a certificate of ownership generation request that includes at least one of: a name of the artifact associated with a copyright; a signature of legal attestation associated with the artifact; a requested valuation of at least one of the artifact or the copyright; or a copyright registration number.
15. The system of claim 12, further comprising receiving a verification request associated with a purchase of the NFT associated with the artifact.
