Description

CAP FOR CLOSING POURING HOLES IN LIQUID CONTAINERS
DESCRIPTION
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention falls within the technical field of plugs with lines of lesser resistance, bands, tearing rings or similar opening or lifting devices to allow the formation of pouring openings. The invention relates in particular to a cap for closing pouring holes in liquid containers, which is coupled through threading to the neck of the container.
The closure cap of the invention comprises a base or lower ring that can be linked by threading to the neck of the bottle, an articulated cover for opening and closing, which allows the liquid to exit without the need to unscrew the base, and connection arms, parallel and deployable, which articulately link the ring and the cover. This tethered cap remains attached to the neck of the bottle at all times by mechanical means, thus facilitating its recycling procedure.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In the current state of the art, some caps and capping assemblies or devices are known, made up of a base that can be linked to the neck of a container and a cover hinged to the base by means of deployable connection strips. For example, document W02020102122 relates to a tethered plastic cap having a closure housing and a handling band that is separately connected to the closure housing by a plurality of bridges connecting a bottom edge of the closure housing to an upper edge of the handling band. Each bridge is configured to stretch and break as the closure housing moves from a first orientation before opening to a second orientation after opening.
The cap further includes a strip and a hinge.
Document W02020041640 describes a cap for closing the neck of a bottle. The cap comprises a handling band, a closure housing, a strip connecting the handling band to the closure housing, and a hinge. The strip connects the handling band and the closure housing through a lower break line attached to the upper part of the handling band and the upper part attached to the bottom part of the strip and through an upper break line attached to the upper part of the strip and the upper part of the handling band, and the upper part attached to the bottom part of the closure housing. The hinge connects the closure housing to the strip where the bottom break line extends approximately halfway around the periphery of the cap.
Document W02019100015 describes a tamper-evident closure for a container, with a molded body having a circular upper wall and a hanging cylindrical side wall ending with a lower cylindrical base, in which an open molded window in the side wall has a circumferential leg portion terminating above the base, and a pad member formed on an inner surface of the side wall overlapping the base and the leg portion. A circumferential slit is formed in the side wall between the base and the side wall, whereby the slit and window define a tether connecting the side wall to the base, and establish a tether connection in the container.
A last example can be seen in the document EP3757033, which describes a bottle cap that includes a body and a security ring. The body has multiple breakable bridge portions located along the periphery of the body and connected to the safety ring. Two unbreakable plates are connected between the body and the safety ring. Each of the unbreakable plates includes multiple turn positions and multiple angles. When the multiple breakable bridge portions are broken, the unbreakable plates are still connected to the safety ring. The unbreakable plates are extendable so that the body can move away from the safety ring a certain distance.
These capping devices are not completely satisfactory. Indeed, the manipulations of the cover, so as to allow it to separate from the lower ring to which it is connected in order to rotate towards a raised position, are not easy, when the cap must move from the closed position towards the tilted open position. Therefore, the need arises to have a closure cap for liquid containers that overcomes the objections that exist in the current state of the art.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The object of the invention consists of a cap that can be coupled to the neck of a liquid container to close its corresponding pouring hole. The cap comprises at least the following elements: -a lower ring that can be coupled to the neck of the container and intended to be retained in said neck, -a top cover, designed to cover the pouring hole of the container in order to seal it and prevent the leakage of liquid housed inside the container, and -some deployable connection arms, which link the ring and the cover in an articulated manner, and In its preferred embodiment, the cap also incorporates frangible bridges, perpendicularly arranged between the ring and the cover, which act as a seal indicating the first opening When the cap is in the closed position. the arms are retracted around the neck. When opening the cap, the cover rotates unscrewing from the ring and the neck of the container, so that said arms unfold and straighten to separate the cover from the neck, leaving the pouring hole free, but keeping the cover attached to the ring, avoiding its loss.
In its preferred embodiment, the cap comprises two connection arms, made up of flexible strips of the same plastic material as the rest of the cap elements.
The cap is preferably manufactured by means of plastic molding, and is demolded laterally by some sliders that mold the bridges of the lower ring or tamper evident band.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To complement the description that is being made and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred example of its practical embodiment, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description, where, with an illustrative and non-limiting nature, the following has been represented: Figure 1.-Shows a top perspective view of the closure cap.

Figure 6.-Shows a front view of the closure cap coupled to the neck of a container, in a second stage of the opening sequence.
Figure 7.-Shows a front view of the closure cap coupled to the neck of a container, in a third stage of the opening sequence.
Figure 8.-Shows a front view of the closure cap coupled to the neck of a container, in a fourth stage of the opening sequence.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
A detailed explanation of a preferred embodiment of the object of the present invention is provided below, with the help of the aforementioned figures.
The closure cap for pouring holes in liquid containers that is described can be linked to the neck (1) of a liquid-containing container for closing a corresponding hole (2) for pouring the liquid housed in said container.
Therefore, the cap comprises a lower ring (3), an upper cover (4), and deployable connection arms (5). In this preferred embodiment, shown in figures 1-4, the cap also includes frangible bridges (6), perpendicularly arranged between the ring (3) and the cover (4), which act as a seal indicating the first opening of the cap.
The ring (3), with annular geometry, comprises a lower sector (7), intended to be retained in the neck (1) of the container, and an upper sector (8) in which the connection arms (5) and frangible bridges (6) are located. Said ring (3) has an internal face (9), facing the neck (1) in which some protuberances (10) are located to retain the ring (3) with the neck (1). Said protuberances (10) are arranged in the lower sector (7) of the internal face (9).
In this preferred embodiment, the cap comprises two connection arms (5) for articulated connection of the cover (4) and the ring (3). Each of them has a lower end (11), an upper end (12) and a central sector (13). The lower end (11) is attached to the ring (3), while the upper end (12) is attached to the cover (4).
The cover (4), with a tubular geometry, comprises a curved and closed side wall (14), and a flat top closure (15). The side wall (14) has an internal face in which a threaded surface (16) is located, intended to cooperate with a corresponding threaded surface located in the neck to produce an upward and downward rotation by screwing the cover (4) along the neck (1). The side wall (14) also has an external face on which a rough surface is located intended to increase the contact surface to facilitate the gripping and handling of the cap.
In this preferred embodiment, the closure (15) has an internal face, intended to face the pouring hole (2), which additionally comprises an annular lip (17) that can be coupled to the perimeter of the hole (2) to generate a hermetic closure of said hole (2), as it can be seen in figure 4.
Figures 5-8 illustrate the sequence of a first opening of the cap coupled to the neck (1) of a container. From a closed position, when a user wishes to release the hole (2) so as to pour the liquid housed in the container, the user proceeds to manually rotate the cover (4) with respect to the ring (3), which is retained at all times in the neck (1) of the container.
As it can be seen in these figures, in the closed arrangement of the cap the connection arms (5) are folded up, with their central sector (13) parallel to the ring (3) and the cover (4). In the closed arrangement of the cap, the central sectors (13) of each of the connection arms (5) are parallel to each other, and perpendicular to the ring (3) and the cover (4).
The turn, which is produced by the cooperation of the threaded surface (16) of the inner face of the cover (4) with the threaded surface of the neck (1), in the first place produces a breaking of the frangible bridges (6) making up the tamper evident band, thus indicating that there has been a first opening of the cap. Secondly, the cover (4) rotates and rises along the neck (1) with the unscrewing, dragging the respective upper ends (12) of the connection arms (5), which thus begin their deployment, as it can be seen in figures Sand 6.
The lower ends (11), fixed to the ring (3), remain immobile, and the flexible nature of the plastic material in which the cap is made allows bending to occur in the central sector (13) that enables the deployment of the connection arms (5) during the upward rotation of the cover (4) without any breaking taking place.
Figure 7 illustrates the moment in which the cover (4) has finished its upward threaded path, freeing the hole (2), and with the connection arms (5) fully deployed and parallel to each other, which also contribute to maintaining said cover (4) in a position far from the hole (2) so as not to interfere during the pouring of the liquid.
Figure 8 illustrates the ability of the connection arms (5) to act as hinges, to completely separate the cover (4) from the pouring area of the hole (2). As it can be seen, the hinging is produced by bending at the respective lower ends of each of the connection arms (5).
Once the liquid has been poured, the cover (4) is screwed on so as to return the cap to its closed position, producing the folding of the connection arms (5) until they are parallel to the ring (3).
