Abstract

An autonomous system for assigning private IPv4 address ranges to four private zones. The zones may use ranges with the existing private IPv4 prefixes. One zone may be called INSIDE or TRUST with an IPv4 address prefix 10.0.0.0/8. A second zone may be called ADMIN with an IPv4 address prefix range 172.16.0.0/16 to 172.31.0.0/16. A third zone may be called INTERNET or UNTRUST or OUTSIDE with an IPv4 address prefix range 192.168.0.0/17. A fourth zone may be called EXTRANET with an IPv4 address prefix range 192.168.128.0/17. The zones may be zero-trust zones.

  4. 4. The EXTRANET zone private IPv4 address prefix 192.168.128.0/17.
