Abstract
A protective helmet suitable for use by sports umpires, particularly cricket umpires. The helmet comprises a rechargeable power pack or battery, a microphone, a central processing unit capable of connecting to the internet, earphones, and two lenses. The helmet allows the umpire to adjudicate and uphold the rules of the game and connects to a remote app on a smart device and to a central unit where remote assistance may be provided.

A protective helmet for use by umpires that will protect umpires from potential head injury whilst carrying out the activity of umpiring a cricket match and the helmet will be equipped with a rechargeable power pack and an outer microphone and a central processing unit and earphones and an internet connection and 2 lenses mounted on the helmet in order that the umpire may gather and share information in order to be provided with assistance in their role of umpiring a cricket match and all the rules associated with umpiring a cricket match and in particular help with no balls, wides, LBW, stumped, bowled, caught, run out, hit wicket, handled the ball, and all other rules that are in relation to umpiring a cricket match, and the 'Cush' will link by an app to the umpires mobile phone and to other interested parties and to a central unit where remote assistance is provided.

- Claims 1, Protect the cricket umpire from head injury while umpiring.2, Provide assistance to umpires in carrying out their umpiring duties in relation to the rules of cricket.3, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player delivered a 'No ball' whilst bowling.4, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player was out or not by means of LBW.5, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player was out or not by means of stumped.6, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player was out or not by means of bowled.7, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player was out or not by means of caught out.8, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player was out or not by means of run-out.9, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player was out or not by means of hit wicket.10, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player was out or not by means of handled the ball.11, In accordance with the rules of cricket, provide assistance in determining or not if the cricket player delivered a 'wide' whilst bowling a delivery.
