Abstract
A folding golf tee comprising a top stem 1 and a base 2 that are connected by a pivot 7; the stem 1 is held upright by means by means of extension 8, and a socket 3 that provides a friction fit. The stem 1 when struck, folds down and can be reset into an upright position. This is facilitated by sockets 4 which provides the stem to engage/disengage. The tee is inserted into the ground by applying force to a shaped base 2. The shape of the base may preferably comprise a fulcrum with sloping sides.
Description
Golf tee This invention relates to folding golf tee When striking a golf bail off a golf tee on many occasions the user will have to look for their tee as it may fly off in many directions. To overcome this problem this present invention proposes a golf tee that folds down when struck thus remaining near its original position. A golf tee is normally pushed into the ground with the aid of a golf ball, a folding tee can make this awkward, this invention is designed so it can be pushed into the ground without the use of a golf ball because of the shape of the base. When this invention is in the upright position it is held in place by means of extension to the stem and a socket in the base, this socket having two more smaller sockets to assist in the movement of the stem. The stem is connected to the base by means of a pivot which passes through the aperture in the stem and the apertures in both sides of base. The top of the stem is cupped to accept a golf ball, a ground spike is incorporated into the base.
The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figurenl shows front and side views of invention Figure 2 shows front, side and top of base of invention Figure 3 shows stem and cross sections of base and stem of invention In figure 1, a stem 1 that is attached to base 2 by means of a pivot 7 that fits through apertures 11, 12, the pivot 7 allows the stem 1 to rotate in two directions, a ground spike 6. In figure 2, a base showing sloping sides 10 that enable tee to be forced into the ground, socket 3 and sockets 4 and aperture 11. In figure 3, the stem 1, extension 8 aperture 12, cross sections of the tee showing socket 3 that engages with extension 8, sockets 4 enabling extension 8 and socket 3 to engage and disengage more freely.
Claims (1)
- Claims 1, A golf tee that comprises of an upper stem connected to a base by means of a pivot, the stem has a extension that meets a socket in the base, this creates a friction fit, this allows the stem when struck to fold over.2, A golf tee according to claim 1, with a base that has sloping sides which act as fulcrum to force in the ground spike.3, A golf tee according to claim 1, with a base that has two smaller sockets either side of a larger socket so as to enable the stem to engage and disengage more freely.4 A golf tee according to claim 1, that can be reset and reused.
