Abstract

A combined paint tin and paint roller tray device having a paint roller tray that can be mounted on a ladder. Preferably the paint roller tray removably attaches to the top of a paint tin and may have two locking tabs to secure a paint roller. A mounting part may attach to the side of the ladder frame and may have two hollow paintbrush holders, which may be of different sizes. The device preferably attaches to the underside of the top of the paint tin by means of a circular clamping arrangement having a nut and bolt to secure it in place.

Description

Painting Aid Device.
This invention relates to making it easier to do painting from either a stepladder, or a ladder, by having a combined painting tin/roller tray device, which attaches to the ladder. Figure 1/1 The device attaches just under the top lip of the paint tin. A bolt and nut tighten the clamp securely to the tin. Figure 2/1 The clamp design still allows for the use of the paint tin handle to carry the tin and device up and down the ladder easily. Figure 1/2 The design of the combined hooking attachment makes it possible to attach the device either to a round ladder rung Figure 3/1, or to the rectangular top frame of the step ladder Figure 3/2.
The two vertical tabs on the side of the device slip over the upright rectangular frame of the ladder and stepladder, to support and hold the device in a fixed position. Figure 2/2 Mounting the paint roller tray on top of the paint tin does away with having to pour paint out of a paint tin into a paint roller tray.
This is a messy process, which you then have to keep repeating when using a roller paint tray separately.
With this setup, the paint roller brush can be dipped directly into the paint tin and then use the attached paint roller tray to roll off excess paint. Figure 1/4 The device incorporates two hollow paintbrush holders, Figure 2/3 and also two locking tabs in the paint roller tray, to hold the paint roller when it is not been used. Figure 1/3 & Figure 4/1 This allows you to swap between using the paint roller brush and a paintbrush quickly.

Claims (6)

  1. Claims.1. This is a painting aid invention relating to making it easier to paint from a step ladder or ladder by having a combined painting tin/ roller tray device which attaches to the ladder.
  2. 2. A paint roller tray attachment to the top of the paint tin, which allows the user to dip the roller brush directly into the paint in the tin and use the roller tray. Without having the need to use a separate paint roller tray, which the paint has to be poured into.
  3. 3. The paint roller tray has incorporated two locking tabs to hold the paint roller brush securely when not in use.
  4. 4. The mount, which attaches to the side of the ladder frame, has a small and a large hollow paintbrush holder.
  5. 5. The device design, still allows for the use of the paint tin handle to carry the paint tin assembly easily, up and down a ladder.
  6. 6. The device is attached to the underside of the top paint tin lip, by a circular clamping arrangement, with a bolt and nut to tighten it securely.
