Abstract

260,246. Bloch, A. Oct. 26, 1925, [Convention date]. Hearing-appliances; stethoscopes.- To isolate desired sounds from parasitic noises a plate 1, covered by a layer of swansdown 7 and preferably oval or pear-shaped, which is connected to, or may be replaced by, a stethoscope or the like, is secured to a pneumatic cushion 4 surrounding the ear of the listener, so that the thickness of the layer of air between the plate and the ear can be adjusted to resonance with the desired sounds. The plate may slide within a similarlyshaped member 3 to which the pneumatic cushion is attached.
