Moulding-machines.- Apparatus for producing hollow articles from plastic or viscous masses comprises a work holder carried by a beam adapted to swing in a vertical plane and equippcu with a tool or tools adapted to operate upon the work during or at the end of such swinging movement, the beam and tools being actuated by a driving shaft parallel with the beam. As shown, a frame 19, carried by links 18 and balanced by a weight 20 is worked by cams 7<1> through racks and levers. The cams are mounted upon a shaft 5 supporting cams 6, 7 which are adapted, through parallelogram linkages or chain gear, to actuate fluid supply &c. valves, and tools carried, tor example, on a head 35; a work table 39 is controlled by a face cam 8 so as to co-operate with the head 35 and to discharge completed articles on to a delivery shoot 44. Moulds &c. 37, 38 are arranged on the table 39 in appropriate positions. As applied specifically to glass, the work holder may carry a mould &c. adapted to be dipped into a bath and filled by suction, the charge being severed automatically by a suitable tool and the holder then rocking to transfer the work to a finishing-mould 39 where it is discharged by fluid pressure. The apparatus is carried by a stationary or portable frame 1. The invention is stated to be applicable to ceramics, celluloid and vulcanite. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers to the treatment of solid articles or blanks and states that the operation may comprise cutting, shaping, moulding, pressing, packing &c., and the appliances for picking up the work may comprise grippers, grabs, magnets, scoops &c. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
