Abstract

A personal care product holder with a body that includes a connection for connecting the holder to another such holder. The body may include a magnet and may further include a magnetic metal portion and the body may be an induction charger. An electric toothbrush base is also claimed where it similarly comprises a body with a connection means for connecting it to another such base. Two or more holders or bases may form an array.

Description

PERSONAL CARE PRODUCT HOLDER

The present invention relates generally to a holder and particularly, although not exclusively, to a holder for personal care products. For example personal care products or toiletries may be consumer products used in personal hygiene and/or for beautification.

An aspect of the present invention provides a personal care product holder comprising a body, the body including attachment and/or connection means for attaching/connecting the holder to one or more other such holders.

The attachment and/or connection means may be releasable.

The body may include magnetic means, such as a magnet The holder may comprise a magnet portion and a magnetic metal portion so that the body can both connect to and be connected to by other such bases.

Other releasable attachment/connection means may alternatively or additionally be provided, such as geometric features, hook and loop fasteners and In some embodiments the body may formed as an induction charger, for example for a motorised personal care product (such as an electric toothbrush, hair clippers or electric razor).

A further aspect comprises an electric toothbrush base comprising a body, the body including attachment and/or connection means for attaching/connecting the base to one or more other such bases.

In some aspects and embodiments the body/base is generally square. In some embodiments the base is formed as a generally rounded square shape (in plan).

In some embodiments the base is formed with four sides. Each side may, for example be generally convex. The sides may, for example, be joined by rounded corners.

The present invention also provides an array of two or more holders or bases as described herein.

In some aspects the present invention relates to a base which can receive a personal care product, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste tube.

In some aspects and embodiments the holder is formed as a base for an electric toothbrush. An electric toothbrush is a motorised toothbrush. A motor is located within the handle that allows a toothbrush head to move rapidly in either a back and forth or rotational motion.

In some embodiments the holder is formed as an induction charger. This can be used, for example, to charge the rechargeable battery of a personal care product The rechargeable battery of an electric toothbrush, for example, provides power that enables the toothbrush to move.

There are two metal coils, one is in the charger and the second one is in the toothbrush. When the electricity moves through the first coil, it creates a magnetic field. Once you place the toothbrush on the charger, the field induces a current in the second coil. The coil on the charging base gives energy and the second coil on the base of the toothbrush receives the energy. Once energy is received, it charges the batteries inside the electric toothbrush.

Different aspects of the present invention may be used separately or together.

Features of the dependent claims may be combined with the features of the independent claims as appropriate, and in combination other than those explicitly set out in the claims.

Claims

CLAIMSI. A personal care product holder comprising a body, the body including attachment and/or connection means for attaching/connecting the holder to one or more other such holders.
2. A holder as claimed in claim I, in which the body includes magnetic means.
3. A holder as claimed in claim I or claim 2, comprising a magnet portion and a magnetic metal portion.
4. A holder as claimed in any preceding claim, in which the body is formed as an induction charger.
5. An electric toothbrush base comprising a body, the body including attachment and/or connection means for attaching/connecting the base to one or more other such bases.
6. An array of two or more holders or bases as claimed in any preceding claim.S
