Disinfecting.-Holders for disinfectants, moth balls, and the like consist of wire coiled or bent to provide a skeleton cylindrical or conical cage and provided at one or both ends with closing caps formed of wire and adapted to screw into the holder. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the holder consists of wire a helically coiled and formed with a loop c at one end. The holder so formed is closed by a cup b formed of helically coiled wire adapted to screw into the closely coiled end portion of the holder and provided with a loop c<1>. The container is flexible and suitable for placing inside upholstered furniture. In modifications the coils may be elliptical instead of circular. Fig. 5 shows a conical holder with a flat, spirally coiled base adapted to stand on a table or to be suspended by the loop c<1>, and Fig. 7 a modification in which the holder is formed of U-shaped wires held together at their upper ends by a ring d and corrugated so as collectively to form a screw thread to engage the cap b. The wire may be of metal, celluloid, or other resilient material, and the disinfectant may be in the form of balls or of crystals, leaves, &c,. contained in a muslin bag.
