Abstract

259,065. Day, C. Dec. 1, 1925. Crank shafts.-The curved fillets 12 - - 15 joining the webs 4, 5 and the shafts and pins 2, 1, 3 of crank shafts are wholly or partly countersunk within the webs, so that thicker webs can be employed without reducing the lengths of the brasses 18, 19, 20. The fillets are produced by cutting unbroken annular grooves in the webs, and are not sufficiently wide to allow entry of the brasses.
