258,547. Deutsche Telephonwerke und Kabelindustrie Akt.-Ges. Sept. 17, 1925, [Convention date]. Automatic and semi-automatic exchange systems.-A calling subscriber N is connected over a " no-normal " line switch W to an operator's position or to numerical switches. Line relay R is maintained energized during conversation, and is short-circuited upon release over an additional wiper IV. Relay R upon energization locks in a local circuit through lamp B and connects up magnet D and switching relay P to the test wiper III. to initiate hunting in the usual manner. When an idle line a, b is found, switching relay P operates, grounds the test wiper to mark the line busy, and closes a further circuit d for relay R. Upon release, a short-circuiting ground is placed on wire d through a delay-device V. If all the lines accessible to the switches such as W are in use, relay G is released, and a buzzer S is connected to a line initiating a call. An operator may identify the line a, b to which a subscriber wanted for a toll call is connected by depressing the key T of each line in turn until his individual lamp B is caused to flicker.
