Abstract

A transformable t-shirt comprises partially detachable sleeves 2 which are attached to the t-shirt 1 using a zip 3, transforming it into a vest. When unzipped 3 the sleeves 2 remain partially attached to the t-shirt 1 under the arms, and are able to be folded and attached to the front of the t-shirt, the back of the t-shirt, or the sides of the t-shirt; the attachment means 4 may be hook and loop (Velcro [RTM]) fabric.

Description

Intellectual Property Office Application No. GII1907451.7 RTM Date:27November 2019 The following terms are registered trade marks and should be read as such wherever they occur in this document: Velcro Intellectual Property Office is an operating name of the Patent Office www.gov.uk /ipo Transformable t-shirt This invention relates to a t-shirt that can be transformed into a vest When exercising in the gym, working out or doing any other form of physical activity people tend to wear a variety of different clothes depending on their personal preferences, the temperature, the sort of physical activity they are doing and various other factors. They may choose to wear a t-shirt, a vest, a sweatshirt or even something else.
However, sometimes people may be unsure of what item of clothing they should wear, such as whether they should wear a t-shirt or a vest. This can become an even greater problem when their body temperature changes, such as beginning to get hotter when starting to exercise and even sweating from the armpits. To nullify this some people may even bring both a t-shirt and a vest with them when going to the gym or doing physical exercise. This can be a bit of a hassle and inconvenient. Firstly, it is inconvenient because you have to bring two items of clothing with you rather than one, which may mean having to carry it in a bag. It may mean you need somewhere to place your t-shirt if you are wearing it over your vest and decide to take it off, for example. Secondly, it is inconvenient because you would have to change your item of clothing, either from a vest into a t-shirt or a t-shirt into a vest.
This process would be even longer if you were not wearing a t-shirt over your vest. Wearing a t-shirt over a vest may not always look right, if the t-shirt happens to be smaller than the vest for example. So this may mean you have to go to a changing room, depending on your surroundings and where you are. These problems will be prevalent during the summer time and in hotter weather conditions when people are more likely to be sweating. To overcome these problems the present invention proposes a t-shirt that can easily transform into a vest, essentially giving you two items of clothing in one and getting rid of the problem of having to decide between having to wear a t-shirt or a vest and the associated problems with this, such as having to change clothes and carrying around or wearing an additional item of clothing.
The t-shirt would have sleeves than can be partially detached with a zip and fastened or attached to the back of the t-shirt using velcro, thus transforming it from a t-shirt into a vest. This will be a simple, straightforward task for the person wearing the t-shirt to be able to do.
The sleeves could also be fastened or attached to the front of the t-shirt or even to the side of the t-shirt. The person wearing the t-shirt may able to attach the sleeves to different parts of the t-shirt, as the t-shirt will still have transformed into a vest.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the front of the t-shirt in its basic form with the sleeves fully attached.
Figure 2 shows the front of the t-shirt when the sleeves have been unzipped and partially detached.
Figure 3 shows the back of the t-shirt with the sleeves fastened or attached to the back of the t-shirt using velcro, thus transforming it into a vest.
In figure 1 the t-shirt 1 includes partially detachable sleeves 2, which can be partially detached using a zip 3 and these sleeves 2 can be fastened or attached to the back of the t-shirt using velcro 4, thus transforming the t-shirt 1 into a vest.
The zip 3 will start from the top of the sleeves 2 where it is connected to the main part of the t-shirt 1 and will run down to the bottom of the sleeves 2 and so they will be partially detached from the t-shirt 1. The sleeves 2 in their partially detached form, will have velcro 4 on the back of the sleeves 2 and also on the back of the t-shirt 1. The person wearing the t-shirt will then be able to fasten or attach the sleeves 2 on to the back of the t-shirt 1 using the velcro 4. This subsequently transforms the t-shirt into a vest.
Figure 2 shows the sleeves 2 which have been partially detached from the t-shirt 1, once the zip 3 has been unzipped or pulled down from the top of sleeves 2.
Figure 3 shows the back of the t-shirt 1 after the sleeves 2 have been partially detached and then fastened or attached to the back of the t-shirt 1 using velcro 4 which is on the back of the sleeves 2 as well as on the back of the t-shirt 1. This subsequently turns the t-shirt 1 into a vest.
