Abstract

A vaporiser comprises: a reservoir 1340 for liquid vaporisable material 1302 (e.g. e-cigarette/vape liquid or juice) having a storage chamber 1342 and an overflow volume 1344; and a collector 1313 disposed within the overflow volume 1344 having a capillary structure with a microfluidic feature such that it retains the liquid and prevents air and the liquid bypassing each other during filling and emptying. Also disclosed is a microfluidic gate (fig. 11L) for controlling flow of the liquid between the storage chamber and overflow volume, having at least a first and second channel, the channels having different capillary drive such that a pinch-off point occurs between the channel openings. Also disclosed are vaporisers and vaporiser cartridges comprising these features.
