Description

[invention Title]
REPLENISHING WATER FILLING DEVICE [Technical Field]
The present invention relates to a replenishing water filling device, which can control the opening and closing of a replenishing water supply path by a simple operation for rotating a control knob in order to supply initial heating water or replenishing water to a boiler heating pipe and can discharge the heating water, which has flowed backward, through an emergency discharge portion even when the heating water flows backward in order to fundamentally prevent the heating water flowed backward from polluting the water of a tap water pipe.
[Background Art]
In general, a boiler for heating heats heating water using a burner and a heat exchanger and circulates the heated heating water in order to heat a room.
Moreover, the boiler includes a tap water pipe disposed separately from a heating water pipe in order to use hot water .
In the initial stage of installation of the boiler, the heating water pipe must be filled with heating water. If the boiler is used for a long time, it is necessary to replenish heating water since the heating water filled the heating water pipe of the boiler is reduced due to evaporation.
So, the boiler includes a replenishing water pipe for connecting the heating water pipe to the tap water pipe in order to supply replenishing water. The replenishing water pipe is opened only when it is necessary to be filled with heating water in the early stage or to replenish heating water, but otherwise is blocked in order to prevent the heating water from being introduced into the tap water pipe.
However, because a conventional replenishing water filling device has a complicated structure since a check valve and other components are mounted, the number of components is increased and it increases the cost of the boiler and makes establishment work complicated.
In connection with a replenishing water supply system, PCT international patent publication no. W096-06308 discloses a valve.

Moreover, the tap water side communication hole and the heating water side communication hole are formed at different heights in the inner space of the path opening and closing member .
Furthermore, an upper end portion is formed above the slim portion of the path opening and closing bar.
Additionally, the replenishing water filling device further includes an emergency discharge portion formed above the path opening and closing member, wherein the emergency discharge portion has a discharge hole and an expanded inner surface .
In addition, the path opening and closing member has a pin retaining portion formed at one side, the control knob has a pin insertion hole, and a pin is inserted in a state where the control knob is rotated to align the pin retaining portion and the pin insertion hole, so that the control knob keeps the rotated state.
[Advantageous Effects]
As described above, the replenishing water filling device according to the present invention can open or close the replenishing water supply path by the simple structure that the path opening and closing bar is vertically lifted by operation of the control knob, and perfectly block the path toward the tap water pipe even when the heating water flows backward in order to discharge all of the heating water, which flowed backward, to the outside through the emergency discharge portion.

A tap water side communication hole 21 and a heating water side communication hole 22 are respectively formed at both opposite sides of the path opening and closing member 20. The inner space of the path opening and closing member 20 is connected with the replenishing water supply path of the main body 10 through the tap water side communication hole 21 and the heating water side communication hole 22.
Referring to FIG. 4, the tap water side communication hole 21 is connected to the replenishing water supply path below from the left side of the path opening and closing member 20, and the heating water side communication hole 22 is connected to the replenishing water supply path above from the right side of the path opening and closing member 20. That is, in FIG. 4, the tap water side communication hole 21 and the heating water side communication hole 22 are respectively formed above and below the path to be located at different heights. A distance between the tap water side communication hole 21 and the heating water side communication hole 22 is at least approximately similar to a length of a slim portion 33 of the path opening and closing bar 30, which will be described later.
The path opening and closing member 20 includes: an emergency discharge portion 23 formed at an upper portion thereof and having a discharge hole 28 of an outwardly open type; and an expanded inner surface 24 formed at a lower portion thereof, wherein the expanded inner surface 24 has an inner diameter getting downwardly smaller. The slim portion 33 is to form a path in a space, which is formed between the tap water side communication hole 21 and the heating water side communication hole 22, of the inner space of the path opening and closing member 20. An outer diameter of the slim portion 33 is smaller than an inner diameter of an inner surface 26 located between the tap water side communication hole 21 and the heating water side communication hole 22 of the path opening and closing member 20 so as to form a gap between the slim portion 33 and the inner surface 26.
The path blocking portion 34 is to selectively connect or block the path between the tap water side communication hole 21 and the heating water side communication hole 22, and has a second O-ring 35 formed in the outer surface thereof. The path blocking portion 34 has an outer diameter which is nearly egual to the inner diameter of the inner surface 26 located between the tap water side communication hole 21 and the heating water side communication hole 22. When the path blocking portion 34 does down, a gap is formed between the path blocking portion 34 and the inner surface 26 above the ίο tap water side communication hole 21 of the path opening and closing member 20, so that the replenishing water introduced through the tap water side communication hole 21 may be introduced into the heating water side communication hole 22 after passing the slim portion 33.
The extension bar 36 is to connect the path opening and closing bar 30 to the control knob 50, is extended downwardly from the path blocking portion 34, and has a third O-ring 37 formed in the outer surface of a lower portion thereof.

The lower support portion 40 includes a round through hole 41 formed therein so that the extension bar 36 of the path opening and closing bar 30 passes the through hole 41 and is connected to the control knob 50. The lower support portion 40 further includes a lifting contact portion 42 formed at a lower end thereof to protrude outwards from the path opening and closing member 20. The lifting contact portion 42 gets in spiral contact with the control knob 50, which will be described later, in order to lift the path opening and closing bar 30 together with the control knob 50.
The path opening and closing member 20 has a pin retaining portion 25, which is formed at one side of an outer face of the lower end thereof and has a hole.
A spring 27 is mounted between the bottom surface of the path blocking portion 34 of the path opening and closing bar 30 and the top surface of the lower support portion 40 in a compressed state, and serves to push the path opening and closing bar 30 upwardly.
The control knob 50 is to lift the path opening and closing bar 30 vertically, and includes a round recess 51 formed at the center, a hole 52 formed in the bottom of the recess 51, and a pin insertion hole 54 formed at one side thereof. The extension bar 36 of the path opening and closing bar 30 is inserted into the recess 51 of the control knob 50, and then, is fixed to the control knob 50 by a screw entering from the opposite side of the recess 51 into the hole 52. A spirally inclined surface 55 is formed on the recess of the control knob 50 so that the control knob 50 can be lifted spirally while the spirally inclined surface 55 gets in sliding contact with a lifting contact portion 42 of the lower support portion 40.
Hereinafter, an operation of the replenishing water filling device according to the present invention will be described.
First, at the time of initial installation of a boiler, the replenishing water filling device is operated in the same way not only in the case that the heating pipe is filled with heating water but also in the case that replenishing water is supplied in order to replenish heating water. So, a replenishing water supply mode for supplying replenishing water is described, but description of an initial heating water supply mode will be omitted.
In order to fill the heating water pipe with replenishing water, as shown in FIG. 4, a user rotates the control knob 50 in order to align the pin insertion hole 54 of the control knob 50 and the pin retaining portion 25 formed at the lower portion of the path opening and closing member 20, and then, inserts a fixing pin 60 so that the control knob 50 is fixed to the pin retaining portion 25. The reason that the control knob is fixed after being rotated is as follows. If a supply amount of replenishing water is small when the replenishing water is supplied, the user only needs to hold the control knob for a moment in the state where the control knob is rotated. However, if there is a great deal of supply amount of replenishing water or if the heating pipe is filled with heating water at the time of initial installation of a boiler, the user has to hold the control knob for a long time. Therefore, if the control knob of the rotated state is fixed by the pin, it can reduce inconvenience that the user has to hold the control knob for a long time.
Here, when the control knob 50 is rotated, the spirally inclined surface 55 of the control knob 50 and the lifting contact portion 42 of the lower support portion 40 get in sliding contact with each other, and the lifting contact portion 42 pushes the spirally inclined surface 55 downwardly so that the control knob 50 moves downwardly and the path opening and closing bar 30 connected to the control knob 50 also moves downwardly while compressing the spring 27.
when the path blocking portion 34 moves downwardly by downward movement of the path opening and closing bar 30, a gap is formed between the inner surface 26 of the path opening and closing member 20 above the tap water side communication hole 21 and the path blocking portion 34. The replenishing water, which was introduced through the tap water pipe connecting port 11 and introduced into the tap water side communication hole 21 after passing the first check valve 13 is introduced into the inner space above the path blocking portion 34 through the gap between the inner surface 26 and the path blocking portion 34. The replenishing water introduced into the inner space moves through the space between the slim portion 33 and the inner surface 26 of the path opening and closing member 20, and then, moves to the heating water pipe connecting port 12 after passing the heating water side communication hole 22. After that, the replenishing water moving to the heating water pipe connecting port 12 is introduced into the heating water pipe connected to the heating water pipe connecting port 12 in order to replenish heating water.
Here, because the path opening and closing bar 30 is in the descended state, the upper end portion 31 of the path opening and closing bar 30 blocks a lower portion of the emergency discharge portion 23. Therefore, the replenishing water introduced into the gap between the slim portion 33 and the inner surface 26 is not discharged to the emergency discharge portion 23, but is entirely supplied to the heating water pipe through the heating water side communication hole 22 in order to replenish the heating water.
Hereinafter, heating performed after supply of the replenishing water is finished will be described.
When the user pulls out the fixing pin 60 which fixes the control knob 50 after completion of supply of replenishing water, the path opening and closing bar 30 is lifted by restoring force of the compressed spring 27, and the control knob 50 connected to the path opening and closing bar 30 is lifted while the spirally inclined surface 55 slides and rotates along the lifting contact portion 42 so as to be returned to its original position.
When the path opening and closing bar 30 is lifted, the path blocking portion 34 gets in contact with the inner surface 26 directly above the tap water side communication hole 21 and closes the path above the tap water side communication hole 21. Therefore, even though replenishing water is introduced through the tap water communication hole 21, because the path above the tap water side communication hole 21 is closed by the path blocking portion 34, the introduced replenishing water does not go above the path blocking portion 34. So, in the heating mode, it is blocked that the replenishing water is introduced into the heating pipe .
The second check valve 14 located at the heating water pipe connecting port 12 serves to prevent backwardly flowed heating water from being introduced into the tap water pipe if heating water flows backwardly in the heating water pipe.
If heating water flows backwards and the second check valve 14 does not fulfill its function due to a damage, the backwardly flowed heating water may be introduced into the inner space of the path opening and closing member 20 through the heating water side communication hole 22. However, even though the heating water flowed backwards is introduced to the inner space, because the path blocking portion 34 blocks the path between the heating water side communication hole 22 and the tap water side communication hole 21 in the state where the path opening and closing bar 30 is lifted, the backwardly flowed heating water cannot move down the path blocking portion 34. Furthermore, because the upper end portion 31 of the path opening and closing bar 30 is lifted in the heating mode, there is a gap between the upper end portion 31 and the expanded inner surface 24 of the emergency discharge portion 23, so the backwardly flowed heating water is introduced into the emergency discharge portion 23 through the slim portion 33 and is discharged to the outside through the discharge hole 28. That is, even though the second check valve 14 is damaged and the backwardly flowed heating water is introduced into the inner space of the path opening and closing member 20, the heating water is not introduced into the tap water pipe but is discharged to the outside through the emergency discharge portion 23.
Because the extension bar 26 of the path opening and closing bar 30 is small in outer diameter, friction force by the third 0-ring 37 is relatively small, the second 0-ring 35 causes small friction force since a distance that the second 0-ring 35 rubs against the inner surface 26 of the path opening and closing member 20 is short, and the third 0-ring 37 of the upper end portion 31 also causes small friction force since a diameter of the upper end portion 31 is small and a distance that the third 0-ring 37 rubs against the inner surface 26 is also short. Therefore, an operating force of the control knob 50 necessary for lowering the path opening and closing bar 30 may be minimized.
While the exemplary embodiments of the present invention have been described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, it will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that the present invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments, and the scope of the present invention should be construed based on the following appended claims and it should be construed that the technical spirit included within the scope equivalent to the claims belongs to the present invention.
