Th® invention relates to a product display apparatus. The invention may be used in a wide range of environments which include, but are not limited to, retail, domestic, household, S garage, Industrial, office, outdoor, catering and hospitality environments.
It is known to use a shelf for displaying products.
According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a product display apparatus 10 comprising a shelf end a product support, the product support attached to the shelf, the product support including a product support member configured for supporting a product to be displayed, the product support configured to be adjustable to vary a vertical position of the product support member relative to the shelf, the product support configured to be movable to vary a horizontal position of the product support member relative to the shelf.
IS
The ability of the product support to be adjusted and moved to vary the position of th® product support member relative to the shelf enables reconfiguration of the product display apparatus to accommodate different products of varying heights and widths. This advantageously increases the utility of the product display apparatus for displaying a wide 20 range of products. In contrast, multiple non-adjustable and non-movabie product supports would be required to accommodate different products of varying heights and widths. This: would not only result in increased costs due to the need to manufacture and stock different types of non-adiustable and non-movable product supports, but also lead to additional time spent in dismantling the product display apparatus to replace the nomadjustabte and nonas movable product supports,
In addition, the provision of the adjustable and movable product support enables reconfiguration of the product display apparatus to improve display space efficiency, which· is particularly useful for displays with a limited amount of display space. For example, the 3<} product support member may be adjusted and moved to vary the position of the product support member, and the associated displayed' product, relative to the shelf in order to provide space for one or more other products supported directly by the shelf and/or supported by other product display apparatus that: are located nearby.
Furthermore, by attaching the product support to the shelf, the product support can be used in combination with any shelf of a display, irrespective of where the shelf is located height-wise on the display and if respective of whether there are any other shelves above the shelf in question. Also, if relocation of the shelf is required to redesign an associated display (for example, to change the visual appearance of the display), the attachment of the product support to the shelf allows the product support to be relocated together with the shelf.
In embodiments of the invention, the product support may be attached on top of the shelf dr to the underside of the shelf. This depends on whether the product is to be displayed above or below the shelf.
In further embodiments of the invention, the product support may be releasably attached to the shelf. This enables detachment of the product support from the shelf, which may be required for a variety of reasons such as maintenance of the product support and replacement of the product support with another product support.
