Abstract

A game of chance which involves the use of: a bowl (A); a roulette (F); a set of cards (D); and/or, a game board (B). The bowl comprises: a window (p); a housing (d) with compartments (e), inside which mechanisms (h) raise or lower rods (f) with rolls (o); a mixer (b), on an axle (c); and, balls (a) carrying symbols (s). The roulette is on an acel (t) with sectors (n) which carry symbols (s) and receive a ball (m). The set of cards also carry symbols (s). The game board has sectors (k,j). An ultra-violet light lamp may be included, as symbols (s) would preferably be marked with ink which becomes visible under ultraviolet light. The bowl, roulette and cards can each produce a game result randomly by either using any combination of two or all three of them together.

Description

GAME OF CHANCE
The invention refers to a gambling game which can be carried out either in casinos or as a group game.
A raffle is a well known type of gambling game in which, after mixing symbols in a bowl, a person manually draws one of them to decide the winner. The downside of this type of game lies in that it is possible to affect the outcome of the draw by using symbols that may differ between themselves in ways that are not visible to a third party, but which the person performing the draw can detect by touch.
The roulette is another commonly known method of performing draws in which the value of the amount won is dictated by the value of the bet being placed if the player managed to correctly anticipate the position a ball would occupy one of the numbered and coloured sections on a rotating element. The disadvantage of this type of game arises from the ability to possibly control the position that a ball would ultimately land on after being released into the game area, which brings into question the very basis of gambling games, which is chance.
Lottery games are also carried out by consecutively drawing a certain number of balls following a mixing process inside a bowl. Here the disadvantage comes from the potential control of the balls that would eventually be extracted by modifying their weights, which would lead them to them responding differently to the mixing process. This can ultimately lead to their position being closer to or further away from the location via which the draws are carried out.
Another popular method of carrying out lottery games is one in which, once they have been mixed, the balls are exposed to air currents. However the downside of this method is that it is difficult to increase or decrease the air pressure in a timely manner depending on the number of balls that are traversing the respective space.
When it comes to card games such as poker, the winner is determined by the combination of the cards received by the players with those turned to face upwards on the game area. Here the disadvantage lies in that suspicions may arise concerning the cards turned to face upwards by the dealer.
The issue that the invention resolves is that of raising the level of unpredictability when determining the game result.
The invention will now be described in detail including references to the accompanying drawings in which:
- figure 1 shows the elements of the game on the whole
- figure 2 shows a game board (B) after a random configuration with playing cards (D)
- figure 3 shows playing cards (D)
- figure 4 shows roulette (F)
- figure 5 shows a bowl (A) after the selection of one of the balls (a)
- figure 6 shows a bowl (A) with a random game result consisting of balls (a)
The game as described in this invention removes the disadvantages of the games previously mentioned by being composed of a bowl (A) in which balls (a) that carry symbols are mixed, a roulette (F) and a set of playing cards (D) which present the same symbols (s) and potentially a lamp with ultraviolet light, in which case it would be preferable for the symbols (s) to be applied or imprinted with paint or ink which only becomes visible when exposed to such a type of light.
As we shall see, a game table assembled in such a way offers the person carrying out the game the possibility of making choices regarding the setup of the game in order to play using only the mixing bowl, the playing cards or the roulette, or any combination of two of these, or using all three.
The bowl (A) is described as being spherical in shape and constructed of transparent plastic. An axel (c) is located inside the bowl to spin a mixing device (b) with variable speed in both directions. The top side of the bowl includes a window (p) through which the balls (a) will be released, while the bottom side contains a housing (d) built into a rectangular shape and also made of transparent plastic with elements (g) which separate some compartments (e) and some mechanisms (h) which move some rods (f) up and down on the central axes of those compartments (e) either partially or completely. The rods (f) contain some rolls (o) on their top end whose positioning, as described in fig. 6, enrolls on an arc of radius (L) equal with radius (R) of the bowl (A) so that when at their top-most position (fig. 1) to allow an easy tumble of balls (a) and once retreated from inside of compartments (e) to allow them to attain a rectangular or square shape, as required by the case, identical with the shape of sectors (k) of board (B).
The balls (a) are described as being the conventional ones used in lottery games and carrying symbols (s) which would preferably be applied with paint that only becomes visible in ultraviolet light.
The playing cards (D) are described as being conventional ones carrying symbols (s) which would preferably be applied with ink that only becomes visible in ultraviolet light.
Roulette (F) is described as being conventional which rotates around an axis (t) following which a ball (m) launched on the playing field (v) would, once the roulette has stopped, occupy one of the sectors (n) marked with symbols (s) which would preferably be applied using paint that only becomes visible in ultraviolet light.
The board (B) is described as being a conventional one made of wood, metal, matte plastic, cardboard or cloth and presents some sectors (k) and (j).
The game as described presents the following advantages:
- it raises the level of unpredictability in lottery games, roulette and those games that make use of playing cards;
- it eliminates the possibility of controlling the outcome of the game;
- it is easily adaptable to any game scenario;
- in lottery games, it introduces the possibility of betting on the position of a ball.
In order to carry out the game in optimal conditions it is vitally important that both the person carrying out the game as well as the players respect the game stages.
It is preferred that before commencing the game that symbols (s) are applied to the balls (a), sectors (n) of the roulette and playing cards (D) with invisible paint or ink, depending on the case, which becomes visible only in ultraviolet light. These symbols will be referred from now on as blind symbols.
Once players have possession of playing tokens or have filled out a ticket, the person carrying out the game can begin introducing balls (a) in bowl (A) through access window (p), following which the playing cards (D) will be randomly placed on game board (B) after a thorough mix. At this the game board will be configured according to the position of symbols (s), position which will be deducted preferably using lamp (UV) if using blind symbols or by flipping the playing cards if using conventional ones. After numbering sectors (k), the playing cards can be picked up, re-shuffled, and once the tokens have been placed, a single card should be drawn from the packet which dictates the winning bet. That card will be retreated from the game and sector (k) with the same symbol (s) will no longer be allowed for bet placing, but this symbol and sector (k) will remain in the game for those that participate via filling out a playing ticket. The winning combination for this section of players will eventually be determined randomly using either bowl (A) or roulette (F).
A random configuration of game board (B) can also be generated using bowl (A) by mixing balls (a) and completely lowering rods (f) using mechanisms (h) and numbering of sectors (k) according to the position of symbols (s) on balls (a) found in housing (d).
If, as it is preferred, symbols (s) on balls (a) are blind, the person carrying out the game will temporarily make use of lamp (UV) in order to take note of the position of the 16 symbols, which then decides the configuration of board (B). Once this configuration is completed, mechanisms (h) will push rods (f) and balls (a) towards the interior of bowl (A) and the mixing process resumes by restarting the mixing device (b) placed on axel (c) in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions both in order to achieve an optimal mixing process, but also for the case in which one or more balls cannot find their way towards one or more of compartments (e) of case (d), during which players are asked to guess, by placing tokens in sectors (k) or (j), which of the balls will end up occupying the space left available at the entrance of one of the compartments (e) by partially lowering rod (f) using the respective mechanism (h).
When there are winners, bets placed on sectors (j) will be rewarded with a smaller portion of the entire sum compared to those placed on sectors (k), as the odds of winning are proportionally higher on these.
Placing bets using tokens or filling in game tickets will be stopped before any mechanism (h) is put to use, but betting may resume before using any of the mechanisms (h) again in order to guess another of the 15 balls (a) still left in bowl (A) and so on until the last ball is reached, each time the sector with the winning symbol will be closed for bets and winners will receive amounts proportionally smaller, since the chances of winning are increased as each ball is removed from the game. All of the balls will, however, will remain in the game for those which participate by filling out game tickets with 4 numbers out of 16 as in the given example, and either roulette (F) will be used to select one of the 16 numbers found in the field of combinations resulted in housing (d), or all 10 combinations, 4 horizontal ones plus 4 vertical ones to which we add the two diagonal combinations, or alternatively only one, only two or, in certain cases, even three using roulette (F) which rotates around axle (t) in which a ball (m) is launched in zone (v) and randomly placing sectors (n) differentiated by a symbol (s). If blind symbols are being used, the person carrying out the game will once again use lamp (UV).
As far as figures 4 and 6 are concerned, ball (m) has placed itself on the sector (n) with the symbol 3 on roulette (F), if it has been specified beforehand that the winning combination will be the horizontal one then the winner will be the player that had the intuition of choosing and marking numbers 8, 3, 2 and 13 on the playing ticket. However, if it has been specified that the winning combination will be the vertical one, the winning player will be the one that chose numbers 3, 1, 15 and 5. In order to increase the odds, it may be specified early on in the game that roulette (F) will be used to decide the winning combinations by generating a common number. In the same example as above, the winning combinations already specified (8, 3, 2, 13 and 3, 1, 15, 5) as they have number 3 in common.
To give another example, if the number selected with the roulette is number 10, the number of winning combinations would rise to three: the horizontal one (10, 5, 16 and 7), the vertical one (10, 4, 12 and 8), as well as the horizontal one (10, 15, 14, 13). A similar situation would result if the roulette selects any of the other numbers found in the comers (7, 13 or 8). To more easily understand the game, the symbol selected by the roulette will from now on be referred to as symbol X.
The person carrying out the game can choose to use any of the three main components of the game (the um and balls, the roulette or the playing cards) to decide the game result. Game board (B) is vital if using the roulette or the playing cards, but optional if using only um (A) and balls (a), as the game would be simplified to a lottery game without draws. Using two game results, with or without making use of symbol X, a rise in the unpredictability of the result will already increase even when making use of conventional symbols, but this unpredictability increases even further when using blind symbols.
Therefore the invention can be applied to conventional games (card games, roulette, draw, raffle, bingo, lottery) using blind symbols, but it can also generate a game result via dependency on other results, including the following ways:
- the result of the ball game can also be dictated by the result of another game, using either playing cards or the roulette;
- the result of the card game can be used alone, but it may also depend on the result of the roulette or the ball game;
- the result of the ball game can depend on another result generated by a ball game;
- the result of the card game can also depend on another result generated by a card game.
The game can be revisited as many times as necessary as immediately as required.
