Abstract

A marking tool for marking walls, ceilings and surfaces to highlight blemishes or other faults after a mist coat of paint has been applied to the wall. The tool includes a shaft, e.g. made of plastic or acrylic, with a metallic tip, e.g. brass. The perimeter of the brass end may be rounded. The tip may include a screw thread (see figure 2) to screw into a recess in the acrylic shaft. The tip may instead be clipped or glued to the end of the shaft. There may be a carrying loop at the opposite end to the brass tip.

Description
The present invention is a mist coat marking tool. The tool is suited for use when marking faults or blemishes on walls, surfaces and ceilings.
When assessing quality control of plaster work on walls a tradesman on occasion is required to physically mark any blemishes or faults highlighted by the application of a mist coat. This invention proposes a marking tool to benefit the user in this example.
The invention comprises of an acrylic or plastic shaft along with metal screw-in tip & carrying loop.
The present invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:Fig. 1 is a plan view of the mist coat marking tool according to an example of the present invention.
Fig 2. Shows a detailed view of the tip feature of the mist coat marking tool in detail.
Fig 3. Shows the example of the present invention in its working position during the marking of walls.
As many possible embodiments may be made of the invention without departing from the scope of the claims, it is to be understood that all matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawings is illustrative and not limiting. It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that other variations of the preferred embodiment may also be practised without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (4)

  1. CLAIMS What is claimed is:
    1. A marking tool comprised of shaft comprised of acrylic, plastic or other material along with a marking tip of brass or other metal for the marking of faultsand blemishes on walls, surfacesand ceilings.
  2. 2. The marking tool of claim 1, wherein the brass type is manufactured in a manner that enables long lasting use on the marking of finished walls, ceilings and surfaces.
  3. 4. The marking tool of claim 1 wherein the perimeter of the brass tip is rounded.
  4. 5. The marking tool of claim 1 wherein the shaft of the tip is machined to enable screwing into recess in the acrylic shaft, or clipped /glued to the end of the shaft of claim 1.
