Abstract

A combined toy car launcher and display case having a housing comprising top (12, figure 1), bottom, side (16, 18, figure 1), front 20 and rear (22, figure 2) panels; wherein the front panel can be opened, for example via a hinge 21, and the housing has an interchangeable launcher pad 82 and an interchangeable display stand (40, figure 1), that may also be the same component. The toy vehicle launcher may have an elastic trigger mechanism whereby a trigger 48 located in an elongate aperture 42 in the bottom panel hooks onto an edge of the rear panel and, upon release of the trigger, contraction of an elastic band 58 pulls the trigger and launcher pad 82 towards the front panel for ejection of the toy car from the housing. There may be complementary holes and protrusions 104, 106, 108, 110 on the housing walls that allow stacking of the cases vertically and horizontally (figure 9). The housing, which may be rectangular, may be formed from translucent or transparent plastics.

Description

TOY VEHICLE COMBINED LAUNCHER AND DISPLAY CASE
This invention relates a toy vehicle combined launcher and display case. More particularly to a toy vehicle display case that transforms into a toy vehicle launcher and back again.
Background of the Invention
Toy vehicles are often provided with display cases which have clear sides which are adapted to house and store the toy vehicle whilst allowing the toy vehicle within the display case to be viewed. Display cases also exist where one can display a plurality of toy vehicles within a single display case wherein dividers are provided to create separate compartments, each compartment being adapted to typically house and store a single toy vehicle whilst allowing the toy vehicle within the compartment of the display case to be viewed.
Some toy vehicles are adapted to be launched across a surface or a specially designed track, such toy vehicles can include the type of toy vehicle where one or more ball bearings are provided on the underside thereof which are adapted to contact the surface to allow for movement of the toy vehicle across the surface wherein the one or more ball bearings act as wheels. In the case of these toy vehicles a separate launcher pad is required.
Summary of the Invention
According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a toy vehicle combined launcher and display case comprising a housing having a top panel, a bottom panel, two side panels, a front panel and a rear panel, the front panel is configured to move between an open position and a closed position to allow access into the housing, the housing being provided with an interchangeable launcher pad configured to launch a toy vehicle and interchangeable display stand configured to display a toy vehicle.
Preferably the bottom panel is provided with an elongate aperture extending along a portion of the length of the bottom panel which is preferably substantially in the centre of the bottom panel and which is preferably substantially parallel to the two side panels.
Preferably the external face of the bottom panel is provided with a skirt extending perpendicularly therefrom in line with each of the side panels and two portions of the rear panel such that a central recess is provided in the skirt extending in line with the rear panel.
Preferably the external face of the bottom panel is provided with one or more protrusions extending perpendicularly therefrom, preferably the protrusions are lipped protrusions, preferably the protrusions are located towards the front of the bottom panel, in one alternative a single protrusion is provided which is located centrally between the two sides, preferably the protrusion straddles the elongate aperture, alternatively two protrusions are provided which are located on either side of the elongate aperture.
Preferably a launcher mechanism is provided, preferably the launcher mechanism comprises a trigger having a first protrusion configured to extend through the elongate aperture in the bottom panel of the housing and move along the length thereof, a second protrusion extending in the opposite direction to the first protrusion, preferably the second protrusion is a lipped protrusion, preferably the end of the second protrusion is provided with a ribbed surface, the launcher mechanism further comprises an elasticated member such as an elastic ring or elastic band, preferably the elasticated member is configured to connect the protrusion extending perpendicularly from the bottom panel with the second protrusion extending from the trigger, the launcher mechanism further comprises a bottom retaining panel configured to retain the trigger within the elongate aperture in the bottom panel of the housing, preferably the bottom retaining panel is sized to fit flushly with the end of and substantially within the skirt, preferably the bottom panel is provided with one or more hollow protrusions extending downwardly and the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more protrusions extending upwardly wherein the one or more protrusions of the bottom retaining panel are configured to co-operate with the one or more hollow protrusions of the bottom panel to retain the bottom retaining panel in position. Alternatively the bottom panel is provided with one or more protrusions extending downwardly and the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more hollow protrusions extending upwardly wherein the one or more hollow protrusions of the bottom retaining panel are configured to co-operate with the one or more protrusions of the bottom panel to retain the bottom retaining panel in position. Preferably the rear end of the bottom retaining panel is provided with a resilient protrusion.
Preferably the trigger is further provided with a wedge extending in the same direction as the first protrusion preferably with the thinner end of the wedge being located towards the rear of the trigger.
Preferably when the trigger is moved to the rear end of the elongate aperture the wedge is configured to cooperate (hook over) with the edge of the rear panel of the housing and be retained in cooperation with the edge of the rear panel by the resilient protrusion extending from the bottom retaining panel, which in doing so stores a force within the elastic member. Preferably when a force is applied downwardly onto the wedge the resilient protrusion deforms allowing the wedge to de-cooperate (un-hook) with the edge of the rear panel, and the elastic member to move the trigger to the front end of the elongate aperture, which releases the force stored in the elastic member.
Preferably the interchangeable launcher pad comprises a planar pad surface preferably extending substantially the full height and width of the internal dimensions of the housing, preferably the interchangeable launcher pad further comprises first and second skirt portions extending perpendicular to the planar pad surface at the top and bottom thereof, preferably the bottom skirt portion is provided with a protrusion, preferably the protrusion extends perpendicular to the bottom skirt portion such that it is in the same plane as the planar pad portion.
Preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the protrusion of interchangeable launcher pad, preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is hollow and receives the protrusion on the interchangeable launcher pad, alternatively the protrusion on the interchangeable launcher pad is hollow and is configured to receive the first protrusion of the trigger.
Preferably the interchangeable display stand comprises a planar surface, preferably planar surface is provided with a first protrusion, preferably the first protrusion extends perpendicular to the planar surface, preferably the first protrusion extend from the bottom of the planar surface.
Preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the first protrusion of interchangeable display stand, preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is hollow and receives the first protrusion on the interchangeable display stand, alternatively the first protrusion on the interchangeable display stand is hollow and is configured to receive the first protrusion of the trigger.
Preferably the interchangeable display stand is provided with additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface, preferably the bottom panel of the housing is provided with apertures or blind holes, preferably the additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface are configured to be received in the apertures or blind holes provided in the bottom panel to retain the interchangeable display stand in a fixed position.
Preferably the interchangeable display stand is provided with additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface, preferably the additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface are configured to be received in correspondingly shaped apertures or blind holes located in an underside of a toy vehicle to retain the said toy vehicle in positon on the display stand.
In one alternative the interchangeable display stand and the interchangeable launcher pad are separate components. In another alternative the interchangeable display stand and the interchangeable launcher pad are the same component. In this alternative the combined interchangeable display stand launcher pad is provided with a planar pad surface having a first protrusion extending from the planar pad portion in the same plane as the planer pad portion and a second protrusion extending substantially perpendicular to the planar surface.
Preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the first protrusion of the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad, preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is hollow and receives the first protrusion on the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad, alternatively the protrusion on the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad is hollow and is configured to receive the first protrusion of the trigger.
Preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the second protrusion of the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad, preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is hollow and receives the second protrusion on the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad, alternatively the second protrusion on the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad is hollow and is configured to receive the first protrusion of the trigger.
The combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad may be provided with additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface, preferably the bottom panel of the housing is provided with apertures or blind holes, preferably the additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface are configured to be received in the apertures or blind holes provided in the bottom panel to retain the interchangeable display stand in a fixed position.
The combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad may be provided with additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface, preferably the additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface are configured to be received in correspondingly shaped apertures or blind holes located in an underside of a toy vehicle to retain the said toy vehicle in positon on the display stand.
Preferably the top panel, bottom panel, two side panels, and rear panel are integrally formed, preferably from a transparent or translucent material, preferably a plastics material. Preferably the front panel is formed separately and is pivotally connected to the rest of the housing, alternatively the front panel is also formed integrally and is provided with a living hinge connecting the front panel to the rest of the housing. Further in the alternative the front panel is formed separately and is configured to connect to the rest of the housing through a friction fit. The front panel may be formed from a transparent or translucent material or in the alternative an opaque material, preferably a plastics material.
Preferably the housing is generally rectangular.
Preferably the top panel, bottom panel, rear panel and front panel are substantially planar, preferably the two side panels are curved, preferably the two side panels curve outwardly.
Preferably the external surface of the top panel is provided with one or more protrusions, in one alternative four protrusions are provided. Preferably the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes, in one alternative four apertures or blind holes are provided, in another alternative fourteen apertures of blind holes are provided. Preferably the one or more protrusions in the external surface of the top panel of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to be received in the corresponding apertures or blind holes in the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected or stacked together vertically. Preferably the greater number of apertures or blind holes compared with protrusions means that the toy vehicle combined launcher and display cases do not need to be stacked exactly on top of one another and can be stacked to form different shapes. In an alternative the external surface of the top panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes and the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more protrusions.
Preferably the external surface of the front panel is provided with one or more protrusions, preferably a single elongate protrusion. Preferably the external surface of the rear panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes, preferably a single elongate blind hole. Preferably the one or more protrusions in the external surface of the front panel of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to be received in the corresponding apertures or blind holes in the external surface of the rear panel of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected together horizontally. In an alternative the external surface of the front panel is provided with one or more apertures blind holes and the external surface of the rear panel is provided with one or more protrusions.

Detailed Description
Figures 1 to 28 illustrate a toy vehicle combined launcher and display case 10 with an interchangeable launcher pad configured to launch a toy vehicle and interchangeable display stand configured to display a toy vehicle according to a first embodiment of the present invention. Figures 1 to 9, 27 and 28 illustrate the configuration with the interchangeable display stand, Figures 10 to 20, 25 and 26 illustrate the configuration with the interchangeable launcher pad, Figures 21 to 23 illustrate the transformation from the configuration with the interchangeable display stand to the configuration with the interchangeable launcher pad and Figure 24 illustrates the launching of a toy vehicle from the configuration with the interchangeable launcher pad.
The toy vehicle combined launcher and display case 10 has a generally rectangular housing 24 which has a top panel 12, a bottom panel 14, two side panels 16, 18, a front panel 20 and a rear panel 22, the front panel 20 is configured to move between an open position and a closed position to allow access into the body of the housing 24. In the embodiment illustrated the top panel 12, bottom panel 14, two side panels 16, 18, and a rear panel 22 are integrally formed from a transparent plastics material. The front panel 20 is formed separately and is pivotally connected to the rest of the housing 24. In the embodiment illustrated the top panel 12, bottom panel 14, rear panel 22 and front panel 20 are substantially planar, and the two side panels 16, 18 are curved outwardly. The external face of the bottom panel 14 is provided with a side skirt 26, 28 extending perpendicularly therefrom in line with the full length of each of the side panels 16, 18 and a rear skirt 30, 32 extending perpendicularly from two portions of the rear panel 22 such that a central recess 34 is provided in the rear skirt 30, 32 extending in line with the rear panel 22. In the embodiment illustrated the skirts 26, 28, 30, 32 are integrally formed with the panels of the housing 24.
In the embodiment illustrated the front panel 20 is provided with a protrusion 21,23 located on either side thereof which cooperates with an aperture or blind hole 36, 38 located in each of the side skirts 26, 28. In an alternative a hinge, such as a living hinge, may be provided which connects the front panel 20 to the bottom panel 14, in a further alternative no pivot is provided and the front panel 20 can simply be removed from the rest of the housing 24.
The bottom panel 14 is provided with an elongate aperture 42 extending along a portion of the length of the bottom panel 14 which is substantially in the centre of the bottom panel 14 and which is substantially parallel to the two side panels 16, 18. In the embodiment illustrated the elongate aperture 42 extends to the front of the bottom panel 14, however, in an alternative the elongate aperture does not extend all the way to the front of the bottom panel 14.
The external face of the bottom panel is provided with a single lipped protrusion 43 extending perpendicularly therefrom located towards the front of the bottom pane which straddles the elongate aperture 42. In an alternative a pair of lipped protrusions 44, 46 may be provided extending perpendicularly therefrom located towards the front of the bottom panel on either side of the elongate aperture 42 as shown in the bottom portion of Figure 22.
A launcher mechanism is provided, the launcher mechanism has a trigger 48 having a first protrusion 50 configured to extend through the elongate aperture 42 in the bottom panel 14 of the housing 24 and move along the length thereof, a second protrusion 52 extending in the opposite direction to the first protrusion 50. The second protrusion 52 is a lipped protrusion, the end of the second protrusion is provided with a ribbed surface 54. The launcher mechanism is further provided with an elasticated member 58 such as an elastic ring or elastic band, the elasticated member 58 is configured to connect the protrusion 43 or pair of protrusions 44, 46 extending perpendicularly from the bottom panel 14 with the second protrusion 52 extending from the trigger 48 which is seen in Figure 10. The launcher mechanism has a bottom retaining panel 60 configured to retain the trigger 48 within the elongate aperture 42 in the bottom panel 14 of the housing 24. The bottom retaining panel 60 is sized to fit flushly with the end of and substantially within the side skirts 26, 28 and rear skirts 30, 32. In the embodiment illustrated the bottom panel 14 is provided with four hollow protrusions 62, 64, 66, 68 extending downwardly (however there could be more or less than this number of hollow protrusions) and the bottom retaining panel 60 is provided with four protrusions 70, 72, 74, 76 extending upwardly (again there could be more or less than this number of protrusions, however, the same number of protrusions should ideally be provided as hollow protrusions) such that the four protrusions of the bottom retaining panel 70, 72, 74, 76 are configured to co-operate with the four hollow protrusions 62, 64, 66, 68 of the bottom panel 14 to retain the bottom retaining panel 60 in position.
Alternatively the bottom panel is provided with one or more protrusions extending downwardly and the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more hollow protrusions extending upwardly wherein the one or more hollow protrusions of the bottom retaining panel are configure to co-operated with the one of more protrusions of the bottom panel to retain the bottom retaining panel in position.
The rear end of the bottom retaining panel 60 is provided with a resilient protrusion 78.
The trigger 48 is further provided with a wedge 80 extending from in the same direction as the first protrusion 50 with the thinner end of the wedge 80 being located towards the rear of the trigger 48.
When trigger 48 is moved to the rear end of the elongate aperture 42 the wedge 80 is configured to cooperate (hook over) with the edge of the rear panel 22 of the housing 24 and be retained in cooperation with the edge of the rear panel 24 by the resilient protrusion 78 extending from the bottom retaining panel 60 which stores a force in the elastic member. When a force is applied downwardly onto the wedge 80 the resilient protrusion 78 deforms allowing the wedge 80 to de-cooperate (un-hook) with the edge of the rear panel 22, and the elastic member 58 to move the trigger 48 to the front end of the elongate aperture 42, releasing the force stored in the elastic member.
The interchangeable launcher pad 82 comprises a planar pad surface 84 extending substantially the full height and width of the internal dimensions of the housing 24, the interchangeable launcher pad 82 further comprises first and second skirt portions 86, 88 extending perpendicular to the planar pad surface 84 at the top and bottom thereof, preferably the bottom skirt portion 86 is provided with a protrusion 90, the protrusion 90 extends perpendicular to the bottom skirt portion 86 such that it is in the same plane as the planar pad portion 84. In the embodiment illustrated the planer pad surface 84 is provided with apertures which aid in drag reduction of the interchangeable launcher pad 82.
The first protrusion 50 of the trigger 48 is shaped to co-operate with the protrusion 90 of interchangeable launcher pad 82, the first protrusion 50 of the trigger 48 is hollow and receives the protrusion 90 on the interchangeable launcher pad 82, alternatively the protrusion on the interchangeable launcher pad is hollow and is configured to receive the first protrusion of the trigger.
The interchangeable display stand 40 comprises a planar surface 92, planar surface 92 is provided with a first protrusion 93, the first protrusion extends perpendicular to the planar surface 92, the first protrusion extend from the bottom of the planar surface 92.
The first protrusion 50 of the trigger 48 is shaped to co-operate with the first protrusion of interchangeable display stand 40, the first protrusion 50 of the trigger 48 is hollow and receives the first protrusion on the interchangeable display stand 40, alternatively the first protrusion on the interchangeable display stand is hollow and is configured to receive the first protrusion of the trigger.
The interchangeable display stand 40 is provided with additional protrusions 95, 97 extending from the bottom of the planar surface 92, the bottom panel 14 of the housing is provided with apertures 98. The additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface 92 are configured to be received in the apertures 98 provided in the bottom panel 14 to retain the interchangeable display stand 40 in a fixed position as the trigger 48 is moveable within elongate aperture 42 otherwise.
The interchangeable display stand 40 is provided with additional protrusions 94, 96 extending from the top of the planar surface 92, preferably the additional protrusions 94, 96 extending from the top of the planar surface are configured to be received in correspondingly shaped apertures or blind holes (not shown) located in an underside of a said toy vehicle to retain the said toy vehicle in positon on the display stand 40. The planar surface 92 is provided with a large aperture 100 generally in the centre thereof to receive the ball bearing (not shown) on the underside of the said toy car 102.
The external surface of the top panel 12 is provided with four protrusions 104, 106, 108, 110. The bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel 60 is provided with fourteen blind holes 112. The protrusions 104, 106, 108, 110 in the external surface of the top panel 12 of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to be received in the corresponding blind holes 112 in the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel 60 of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected or stacked together vertically. The greater number of blind holes compared with protrusions means that the toy vehicle combined launcher and display cases do not need to be stacked exactly on top of one another and can be stacked to form different shapes. In an alternative the external surface of the top panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes and the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more protrusions.
The external surface of the front panel 20 is provided with an elongate protrusion 114. The external surface of the rear panel 22 is provided with an elongate blind hole 116. The one elongate protrusion 114 in the external surface of the front panel 20 of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case is configured to be received in the corresponding blind hole 116 in the external surface of the rear panel 22 of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected together horizontally. In an alternative the external surface of the front panel is provided with one or more apertures blind holes and the external surface of the rear panel is provided with one or more protrusions.
The stacking of the toy vehicle combined launcher and display cases can be seen in Figure
4.
In the alternative illustrated the interchangeable display stand 40 and the interchangeable launcher pad 82 are separate components. In another alternative not illustrated the interchangeable display stand and the interchangeable launcher pad may be the same component. In this alternative the combined interchangeable display stand launcher pad is provided with a planar pad surface having a first protrusion extending from the planar pad portion in the same plane as the planer pad portion and a second protrusion extending substantially perpendicular to the planar surface.
The first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the first protrusion of the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad, preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is hollow and receives the first protrusion on the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad, alternatively the protrusion on the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad is hollow and is configured to receive the first protrusion of the trigger.
The first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the second protrusion of the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad, preferably the first protrusion of the trigger is hollow and receives the second protrusion on the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad, alternatively the second protrusion on the combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad is hollow and is configured to receive the first protrusion of the trigger.
The combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad may be provided with additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface, preferably the bottom panel of the housing is provided with apertures or blind holes, preferably the additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface are configured to be received in the apertures or blind holes provided in the bottom panel to retain the interchangeable display stand in a fixed position.
The combined display stand and interchangeable launcher pad may be provided with additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface, preferably the additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface are configured to be 5 received in correspondingly shaped apertures or blind holes located in an underside of a toy vehicle to retain the said toy vehicle in positon on the display stand.

Claims (23)

1. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case comprising a housing having a top panel, a bottom panel, two side panels, a front panel and a rear panel, the front panel is configured to move between an open position and a closed position to allow access into the housing, the housing being provided with an interchangeable launcher pad configured to launch a toy vehicle and interchangeable display stand configured to display a toy vehicle.
2. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 1 wherein the bottom panel is provided with an elongate aperture extending along a portion of the length of the bottom panel.
3. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claim in any preceding claim wherein the external face of the bottom panel is provided with a skirt extending perpendicularly therefrom in line with each of the side panels and two portions of the rear panel such that a central recess is provided in the skirt extending in line with the rear panel.
4. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the external face of the bottom panel is provided with one or more protrusions extending perpendicularly therefrom.
5. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case further comprising a launcher mechanism.
6. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 5 when dependent on claim 2 and claim 4 wherein the launcher mechanism comprises a trigger having a first protrusion configured to extend through the elongate aperture in the bottom panel of the housing and move along the length thereof, a second protrusion extending in the opposite direction to the first protrusion the launcher mechanism further comprises an elasticated member which is configured to connect the protrusion extending perpendicularly from the bottom panel with the second protrusion extending from the trigger
7. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 6 wherein the launcher mechanism further comprises a bottom retaining panel configured to retain the trigger within the elongate aperture in the bottom panel of the housing.
8. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 7 wherein the rear end of the bottom retaining panel is provided with a resilient protrusion and the trigger is further provided with a wedge extending in the same direction as the first protrusion with the thinner end of the wedge being located towards the rear of the trigger.
10. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 8 wherein when the trigger is moved to the rear end of the elongate aperture the wedge is configured to cooperate (hook over) with the edge of the rear panel of the housing and be retained in cooperation with the edge of the rear panel by the resilient protrusion extending from the bottom retaining panel, which in doing so stores a force within the elastic member.
11. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 10 wherein when a force is applied downwardly onto the wedge the resilient protrusion deforms allowing the wedge to de-cooperate (un-hook) with the edge of the rear panel, and the elastic member to move the trigger to the front end of the elongate aperture, which releases the force stored in the elastic member.
12. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the interchangeable launcher pad comprises a planar pad surface.
13. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case a claimed in claim 12 wherein the planar pad surface is provided with a protrusion.
14. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 13 when dependent on claim 6 wherein the first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the protrusion of interchangeable launcher pad.
15. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the interchangeable display stand comprises a planar surface.
16. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 15 wherein the planar surface is provided with a first protrusion.
17. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 16 when dependent on claim 6 wherein the first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the first protrusion of interchangeable display stand.
18. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any of claims 15 to 17 wherein the interchangeable display stand is provided with additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface and the bottom panel of the housing is provided with apertures or blind holes, and the additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface are configured to be received in the apertures or blind holes provided in the bottom panel to retain the interchangeable display stand in a fixed position.
19. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any of claims 15 to 18 wherein the interchangeable display stand is provided with additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface wherein the additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface are configured to be received in correspondingly shaped apertures or blind holes located in an underside of a toy vehicle to retain the said toy vehicle in positon on the display stand.

A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim when dependent on claim 7 wherein the external surface of the top panel is provided with one or more protrusions and the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes and wherein the one or more protrusions in the external surface of the top panel of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to be received in the corresponding apertures or blind holes in the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected or stacked together vertically.
21 A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim when dependent on claim 7 wherein the external surface of the top panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes and the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more protrusions and wherein the one or more apertures or blind holes in the external surface of the top panel of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to receive the corresponding protrusions in the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected or stacked together vertically.
22. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the external surface of the front panel is provided with one or more protrusions and the external surface of the rear panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes wherein the one or more protrusions in the external surface of the front panel of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to be received in the corresponding apertures or blind holes in the external surface of the rear panel of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected together horizontally.
23. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the external surface of the front panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes and the external surface of the rear panel is provided with one or more protrusions wherein the one or more apertures or blind holes in the external surface of the front panel of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to receive the corresponding protrusions in the external surface of the rear panel of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected together horizontally.
24. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the interchangeable launcher pad and interchangeable display stand are separate components.
25. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in of claims 1 to 23 wherein the interchangeable launcher pad and interchangeable display stand are the same component.

A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claim in any preceding claim wherein the external face of the bottom panel is provided with a skirt extending perpendicularly therefrom in line with each of the side panels and two portions of the rear panel such that a central recess is provided in the skirt extending in line with the rear panel.
20 4. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the external face of the bottom panel is provided with one or more protrusions extending perpendicularly therefrom.

25 claim when dependent on claim 2 and claim 4 further comprising a launcher mechanism wherein the launcher mechanism comprises a trigger having a first protrusion configured to extend through the elongate aperture in the bottom panel of the housing and move along the length thereof, a second protrusion extending in the opposite direction to the first protrusion the launcher mechanism further comprises an elasticated member which is
30 configured to connect the protrusion extending perpendicularly from the bottom panel with the second protrusion extending from the trigger
6. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 5 wherein the launcher mechanism further comprises a bottom retaining panel configured to retain
35 the trigger within the elongate aperture in the bottom panel of the housing.

A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 6 wherein the rear end of the bottom retaining panel is provided with a resilient protrusion and the trigger is further provided with a wedge extending in the same direction as the first protrusion with the thinner end of the wedge being located towards the rear of the trigger.

A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 7 wherein when the trigger is moved to the rear end of the elongate aperture the wedge is configured to cooperate (hook over) with the edge of the rear panel of the housing and be retained in cooperation with the edge of the rear panel by the resilient protrusion extending from the bottom retaining panel, which in doing so stores a force within the elastic member.
9. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 8 wherein when a force is applied downwardly onto the wedge the resilient protrusion deforms allowing the wedge to de-cooperate (un-hook) with the edge of the rear panel, and the elastic member to move the trigger to the front end of the elongate aperture, which releases the force stored in the elastic member.
10. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the interchangeable launcher pad comprises a planar pad surface.
11. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case a claimed in claim 10 wherein the planar pad surface is provided with a protrusion.
12. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 11 when dependent on claim 6 wherein the first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the protrusion of interchangeable launcher pad.
13. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the interchangeable display stand comprises a planar surface.
14. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 13 wherein the planar surface is provided with a first protrusion.
15. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in claim 14 when dependent on claim 6 wherein the first protrusion of the trigger is shaped to co-operate with the first protrusion of interchangeable display stand.
16. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any of claims 13 to 15 wherein the interchangeable display stand is provided with additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface and the bottom panel of the housing is provided with apertures or blind holes, and the additional protrusions extending from the bottom of the planar surface are configured to be received in the apertures or blind holes provided in the bottom panel to retain the interchangeable display stand in a fixed position.
17. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any of claims 13 to 16 wherein the interchangeable display stand is provided with additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface wherein the additional protrusions extending from the top of the planar surface are configured to be received in correspondingly shaped apertures or blind holes located in an underside of a toy vehicle to retain the said toy vehicle in positon on the display stand.
18. A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim when dependent on claim 6 wherein the external surface of the top panel is provided with one or more protrusions and the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes and wherein the one or more protrusions in the external surface of the top panel of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to be received in the corresponding apertures or blind holes in the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case such that the first and second toy vehicle combined launcher and display case can be connected or stacked together vertically.
19 A toy vehicle combined launcher and display case as claimed in any preceding claim when dependent on claim 6 wherein the external surface of the top panel is provided with one or more apertures or blind holes and the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel is provided with one or more protrusions and wherein the one or more apertures or blind holes in the external surface of the top panel of a first toy vehicle combined launcher and display case are configured to receive the corresponding protrusions in the bottom surface of the bottom retaining panel of a second toy vehicle combined launcher and
