Description

The present invention relates to a storage and transport device, in particular for storage and transport of multiple items; more particularly but not exclusively a device for storage and transport of multiple clothes pegs.
Background
Increasing numbers of people recognise the importance of outdoor airing and drying of washing.
It can be tricky to achieve however as less users have dedicated outdoor space for a line. In addition or the alternative laying all the washing out and ensuring sufficient clothes pegs are available to hand is troublesome wherever the line is.
Prior Art
US 2012 0 018 439 (DISTEFANO) comprises a clothes peg holder for maintaining pegs therein in storage and allowing access during use including: a body portion defining a chamber for storing the clothes pegs, the body having a floor and dependent wall wherein the floor and wall structure define a collapsible chamber for receiving and storing a plurality of pegs; a pair of arms interconnected to the body, the arms extending upwardly from the body and having attachment means at their ends, wherein in a mounted condition the opposite arms and body form a longitudinal opening transverse to the plane of the arms for access into the chamber, and wherein the arms are adapted to fold within the chamber in a transportable condition; and wherein as the chamber progressively fills with pegs in a second mounting condition, the weight of pegs urges the arms outwardly of the body and form longitudinal internal concavities extending into the chamber.
WO 2010 94 827 (FREAZA) discloses a clothes peg holder including a glove, to which is attached: a rigid or semi-rigid linear element in the form of a spiral that surrounds the glove, or one or more linear elements configured in a straight line and to which the clothes pegs are secured to render same more accessible.
DE 3 704 001 (DAHM et al) discloses a device for keeping clothes-pegs ready to hand on the body consists of a ring-shaped strap to be hung transversely over the shoulder and composed of a basic belt (1) and of loops (3) which are attached to the latter and which are formed continuously by a further belt (2). The clothes-pegs (5) are slipped onto the loops. <IMAGE>
The present invention arose in order to overcome problems suffered by existing devices.
Summary of the Invention
According to the present invention there is provided a clothes peg storage and transport device comprising a body, a user attachment means and one or more peg hanging members; wherein the user attachment means is arranged to attach the body to the user’s arm, the hanging member extends away from the body, and the device is configured such that the clothes peg is maintained between the body and the hanging member.
In this way the device may advantageously comprise a simple and effective way to transport a number of clothes pegs to a place of usage such as a clothes-line, whilst maintaining the pegs close at hand for usage.
In some embodiments the members may be arranged on the rear of the body so as to situate in use on the back of the user’s hand or arm. In this way the pegs may be advantageously easy to collect with the other hand.
The members may be elongate parts, and may comprise looped members such that the pegs may clip over and hang from the member. The member may therefore be permanently secured at both ends to the body. In other embodiments the member may be secured permanently at only one end.
In still further embodiments the member may be secured temporarily at one or both end, for example through ferromagnetic portions or hook and loop portions such as Velcro (RTM). In this way the configuration of hanging members, and consequently clothes pegs in use, may be altered according to user preference.
In some embodiments the members may comprise short loops, or may be subdivided into short segments. For example the members may be secured at wither end to the body so as to define a length or width sufficient to allow passage of a single peg. Advantageously this may limit movement of the peg when in place on the device, in more than one direction.
In some embodiments the member comprises a pocket, having an opening leading to a closed end. In this way one arm of the peg may be envisaged to enter the pocket and the other arm may be envisaged to close onto the outside of the member.
In other embodiments the members may enable the user to hang the peg in two opposing directions at least so as to accommodate user preference as to whether the hanging allows collection of pegs with the hand facing down or up.
The member may comprise a thin cord or similar to a known clothes line. The member may comprise a cord threaded through the body in some embodiments.
In some embodiments the member comprises elastomeric material.
In some embodiments the member is adjustable in displacement from the body.
The attachment means may comprise a separate part from the body. For example in some embodiments the attachment means may comprise a part that extends from, or is configured to attach to, the body. For example the body may comprise a substantially planar part or a plate, and the attachment means may comprise one or more cords or bands, which bands surround part or all of the circumference of an arm in use.
The body may be arranged to comprise the attachment means. For example the body may comprise a flexible band part in whole or in part, which flexible band may be arranged in use to surround the arm, and wherein the attachment means may comprise one or more buttons, fasteners or reversible fastening means.
The fastening means may comprise hook and loop means such as Velcro (RTM) or hook and eye means.
In some embodiments the body comprises a glove, configured to cover the user’s hand and wrist and provide an integral attachment means. In some embodiments the body comprises a fingerless glove. In other embodiments the body comprises a gauntlet. In still further embodiments the body comprises an arm warmer or sleeve.
In some embodiments the hanging members comprise ferromagnetic members, such that the pegs may be hung on the body using ferromagnetism.
In some embodiments the body comprises a base for the hanging members and the attachment mechanism is arranged to attach the base to the user’s hand or arm. For example the body may comprise a substantially rigid base with plural members extending therefrom.
In some embodiments the body comprises a flexible body, for example a fabric body.
In some embodiments the attachment mechanism comprises a collar on the body, for example an elastomeric collar.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example only and with reference to the Figures in which:

Detailed Description of Figures
With reference generally to the figures there are shown embodiments of the device 99 according to the present invention comprising a clothes peg storage and transport device comprising a body 1, a user attachment means 3 and one or more peg hanging members 2; wherein the user attachment means is arranged to attach the body to the user’s arm, and the hanging member is configured to extend away from the body such that a clothes peg 1000 is maintained between the body 1 and the hanging member 2.
In particular reference to the embodiments shown in Figures 1 and 2 the embodiment comprises a gauntlet, formed in a fabric material, and having stalls 8 covering all digits.
The body is composed of two parts joined at a side seam.
The attachment means in the pictured embodiments comprises an elasticated collar 7, around the proximal end of the gauntlet body. The body 1 is cinched at the collar at a cinch 6.
The hanging members in the first embodiment comprise laterally arranged elongate strap members 4 secured on the rear or back side of the body at spaced apart securement locations, which are formed by sewn seams 5.
The members are spaced apart from one another longitudinally along the length of the hand, by approximately the width of the members, to advantageously give each peg space to sit before the next peg is hung. The flexible material of the body and of the members further enables the pegs to locate at a plurality of attitudes and configurations so as to stack effectively upon each other should this be the case in hanging.
The seams 5 subdivide the lateral length of the member into four separate hanging locations or loops.
The hanging members are elongate strips of material and thereby provide plural loops of material between the seams 5. The members are spaced parallel one another between the finger stalls and the collar on the back of the hand in use, and the seams subdivide the lateral length of the members into four separate loops and the member panels provide right rows between the fingers stalls and collar.
With reference to the second embodiment the embodiment comprises a plurality of hanging members on the rear of the hand in use, as per the first embodiment.
However the members 2 provide a series of parallel pockets 11, separated by seams as per the first embodiment but comprising a series of overlaid panels, enabling one arm of a peg to be placed behind a panel.
With the second embodiment the collar 7 is cinched instead of the body.
The members are spaced parallel one another between the finger stalls and the collar on the back of the hand in use, and the seams subdivide the lateral length of the members into four separate pockets and the member panels provide right rows between the fingers stalls 8 and collar 7.
The invention has been described by way of examples only and it will be appreciated that variation may be made to the above-mentioned embodiments without departing from the scope of invention as defined by the claims, in particular but not solely combination of features of described embodiments.
